As I said, at the time, the devolved governments were outdoing each other with caution for political ends with no evidence, no care for business or the knock on effects we are all seeing now and as many of us predicted.

@StevenJGPerez Of those on NLW 30% work in retail, 30% in care, 30% in Hospitality (10% other). But we are affected differently! Care is paid by Govt. Retail pay 6-20% of turnover BUT hospitality circa 30%. So it hits Hospitality the most and as discretionary spend we darent put our prices up!

So the minimum wage up by 10% for private business but government can only afford 5% for NHS. This means 10% all the way up the scale hardly inflation busting!How can hospitality afford this without big price rises or job losses!?

National living wage confirmed to rise by 10% from April - up from £10.42 to £11.44 for over 23s. A reminder that although govt announces it it is businesses who deliver it and why it is so vital other action is taken to reduce tax and costs, particularly rates
