I doubt you realised you need an excavator to lift potatoes? If you’re not a farmer I think you should watch this. ⬇️ When you tuck into fish and chips or your lovely jacket potato or your Sunday roast, spare a thought for what has gone into getting your food out the ground and the damage caused to the soil as a result of the current weather. This comes at a huge cost to the farmer.

So it wasn’t just me who thought last night’s @Channel4 program on beef production was a nonsense. Well done to @guardian and their TV reviewer @LucyMangan for not holding back. I just hope TV commissioners now think twice before going ahead with light-weight, poorly researched documentaries such as this one in the future
