The folks @selfawarestudio poured their hearts into making an unbelievably beautiful and modern site. And they are PHILLY PEOPLE representing our city on a global scale. The fact that people love to get mad at rebrands these days just feels so sad and tired.

I’m a proud Philadelphian. I dig the new rebrand for @visitpham. I’ve long been a fan of @GretelNYC (though I do wish they worked with a Philly shop like @Smith_Diction). The custom Fairmount Serif rooted in Philly history is unique and iconic. The website by Philly’s @selfawarestudio looks amazing. No one in Philly called ever called it the “Philadelphia Museum of Art.” Officially changing it to “Philadelphia Art Museum” is much closer to what we call it anyway. But suggesting “PhAM” as shorthand is risky. This is the city that threw snowballs at Santa Claus. This is the city that vandalized and decapitated a child-sized, hitchhiking robot that previously navigated several other countries before coming here. This is the city that greases street poles. How long do you think it’ll take for “Phart” to catch on?
