A regime, or politeia, endures when it serves the common good rather than faction. Lee took a vulnerable, divided entrepôt and deliberately constructed a modern polis. He rejected ethnic clientelism, imposed equal rules under law, rewarded merit, and built habits of discipline and cohesion so citizens of every background could pursue security and rising prosperity together. He treated nationhood as a fragile achievement that required constant defense against stasis. Aristotle warned that when a politeia no longer aims at eudaimonia for the whole but instead manages competing interests and erodes the civic ethos, it decays into factional strife and eventual collapse. And Lee showed what deliberate counter measures look like in practice. America today is moving toward the condition Aristotle feared and Lee refused to accept. Identity based claims increasingly displace equal rules, merit yields to group outcome, and trust in shared institutions frays. Without a conscious recovery of the principles that once sustained our own politeia, namely justice applied without favor, habits of self-government, and a civic ethos oriented toward the flourishing of citizens as one people rather than rival tribes, America risks the very stasis and hollowing that have undone polities throughout history.

The India FTA will go down as the most substantial and sustained reputational damage National has ever faced. Ironically it was self inflicted. Nat MPs stood by while their 'leader' served an agenda rather than his constituents. Time to wake up and take your party back before it's a memory. Social media biometric verification will likely be bigger, more hated across political ideologies and more damaging than Luxon's infinite migration deal. Surely his MPs realise these policies are intrinsically anti-Kiwi. Continued support for this will destroy their own credibility.

Luxon, so typically has weakly come out this morning with “ a vote for TOP is a vote for Labour” - he needs to rule them out completely. NZ has never had its ‘teal moment’ like Australia did two elections ago, when disguised greenies harvested votes from both the left and the right. Concerningly Luxon last year stated that he would welcome a teal movement here in NZ, and noted that National itself has a ‘blue green’ movement, that like him worships the Green death cult climate con. National has been too soft, too safe, too meek, too mild, too little too late. Luxon continues to display the political skills of a boat anchor by vowing to bring in digital ID and his social media ban. Total muppets. Act the other half of the Indian tribute band is falling fast in the charts, while NZF continues to do all the heavy lifting and has a leader with the best approval ratings of ALL parties. Since December - Nats and Labour are down 10 points - the two big parties are bleeding out - people are going elsewhere and want CHANGE - even if it’s worse they want to break things up. Only NZFirst can get the CR coalition over the line in November - Luxon and National would do well to keep that front of mind. National have been sleep walking off a cliff ever since the 2023 election.
