What a privilege us Americans have, to live in a nation that every one of its inhabitants can shape. What an honor us New Yorkers have, to look out over our city’s waters from the shores where so many Americans bravely entered their country for the first time. Today and all days, let us remember that patriotism is not pretending our nation is without flaws. Patriotism is every act of righteous dissent — because loving our country means fighting for the best version of it. Happy Fourth of July, New York City.

I knew patriotism had declined in the United States. But hadn't realized we're actually below the world average now.

Vance is married to the daughter of immigrants. Rubio is the son of immigrants. My posts about @HungCao_VA consistently get more support from the right than anything else I post. He fled communist Vietnam by way of Africa. He wasn’t born Christian. Yet MAGA loves him. He served this nation and is not a Hollywood nepobaby like you. He hates fraud. But the real difference isn’t his accent or ethnicity. It’s that he hates communists. That’s the bare minimum level bud: honesty when you applied for citizenship. You lied, ergo we hate you. You need to go.
