First Cider of the year! From this rebuilt 130+ year old press using period wood from bottom of Otter Lake, Mich. all original metal & some wood. Took me -3 hours to turn 2.5 home grown organic apples from my yard into +4 Gallons of cider. Much easier than my brand-new cider mill. & DELICOUS!

Under-discussed nuance here. Wealthy families (who can afford private school) actually tend to stay in the city (close-in residential enclaves) to raise their kids. The next tier is effectively forced to move 30-45 minutes away to find a decent school system.

Tbh this is the insanity of American governance. Every 4 years we have a massive insanely public election to select the leader of our country. That person has untold power, and can go and vaporize entire nations off the face of the earth. He can kidnap foreign leaders, he can do so much. But he can’t go to American cities and fix them. He can’t fix American states. The President of America has more power over the world than he does over his own country.
