🔓 5 years of DeFi/crypto exploits, 2020–2026 YTD: where the money actually leaks. 📉 Protocol-logic exploits collapsed: 37% (2021) → ~5% (2024). Audits, formal verification, fuzz harnesses, immutable bug bounties — they actually work. 📈 But total losses didn't fall — keys / infra / CEX / UI supply-chain became 80–95% of the pie: • Bybit $1.5B (Safe{Wallet} supply chain, Lazarus, Feb 2025) • Kelp DAO via LayerZero $292M (RPC compromise + DDoS failover, Apr 2026) • DMM Bitcoin $305M (private key, May 2024) • WazirX $235M (multisig, Jul 2024) • Mixin $200M (cloud DB breach, Sep 2023) ⚖️ 2025 partial recovery to 20% logic: Cetus (Sui) $223M, Balancer V2 $128.6M precision heist, GMX V1 $42M. The weakest link moved from code → humans, cloud, endpoints. Sources: Chainalysis, SlowMist, Halborn, Immunefi, DefiLlama, REKT DB. #DeFi #CryptoSecurity

The Arbitrum Security Council has taken emergency action to freeze the 30,766 ETH being held in the address on Arbitrum One that is connected to the KelpDAO exploit. The Security Council acted with input from law enforcement as to the exploiter’s identity, and, at all times, weighed its commitment to the security and integrity of the Arbitrum community without impacting any Arbitrum users or applications. After significant technical diligence and deliberation, the Security Council identified and executed a technical approach to move funds to safety without affecting any other chain state or Arbitrum users. As of April 20 11:26pm ET the funds have been successfully transferred to an intermediary frozen wallet. They are no longer accessible to the address that originally held the funds, and can only be moved by further action by Arbitrum governance, which will be coordinated with relevant parties.

The last 3 years all I heard was "Layer Zero is a chad team" Now we're all wondering what that meant... That they're winners? That they write good code? That they're well-intentioned? Or that they throw good parties? (genuinely asking, never attended one)

🚨 NEW: AOC Calls for a National Wealth Tax Q: “So when you run for president, are you going to impose a wealth tax, or a billionaires tax?” AOC: “We don't have to wait for any one president to impose a wealth tax. I think that it needs to be done expeditiously.”

This is pretty nifty. It won't help for pallets stacked high on a pallet rack (think of the shelves at Costco), and these devices will need a precisely smooth floor. Still cool tech, though.

Putting this out early so you don't get rekt again in a few weeks. Dec cut = 81%, higher than last week, lower than last month In TradFi we call that “priced in.” Crypto will still ape the rumor the week of the meeting like it’s fresh alpha. Seen this movie 4 times. Edge = fade the hopium the week of the decision. You’re welcome.
