This whole process is getting murkier by the minute and I’m not going to accept fans who say the communication from the Administrators communication has been excellent. There always been questions over Bord and his finances, before and after. And you usually find when this happens it turns out to have some truth in it. When the club and administrators asked for fans to “spend, spend, spend”, we couldn’t open our wallets quick enough. But now as questions are asked, after we’ve kept the club running, there is quite ironically ‘radio silence’. The fanbase certainly deserve to know more. I was told by some representatives about this James Bord, the same we already know. Where is the money? They couldn’t find out anything. And the same thing was said over and over “How can this bloke fund Sheffield Wednesday?”. If rumours are true, he can’t - not on his own anyway. My own opinion of this is that the other two bids are just over £20m and if Bord merely matched that, then he would be in third place. The only way Bord could get preferred bidder status is by paying what the administrators wanted for the creditors. As a gambler himself, he’s clearly gambling on whether he can pass the EFL checks. Those EFL checks are getting tighter and tighter every day and that is in part due to cases like ourselves. A championship club was in the middle of a takeover months ago, to an apparent billionaire (and internet searches agree) and they got the knock back. I don’t see how any of this is positive myself. If he gets through checks and rumours are true of his questionable wealth, how do we go forward as a club, or he doesn’t get through the checks and we start again? And what makes all of this more uncomfortable is that one of the people in charge of the process is an owl himself. I believe the club and/or consortium should come forward and give us more clarity on who is involved in trying to buy the club, not just “James Bord and friends” We deserve that at least #SWFC
