HE HAD JUST COME ONTO THE MEMORIAL TRACK MEET BEFORE THE DISTRICT MEET.  Prosecutor Bill Wirskye: “Did you become aware of someone not on the team in your tent?” Witness: “Yes, he sat next to me.” [Karmelo] Prosecutor Bill Wirskye: “Did this worry you, bother you, or seem kind of normal?” Witness: “It was kind of strange because everyone is supposed to be in their home tent.” Prosecutor Bill Wirskye: “What did Karmelo say?” Witness “He says he wasn’t leaving and says a profanity.” Prosecutor Bill Wirskye: “What did Karnelo do?” Witness “He was starting to get more aggressive.” Prosecutor Bill Wirskye: “What does he say next?” Witness “F you all. I’m not going to leave. You’re all a bunch of p@ssies.” Prosecutor Bill Wirskye: “Did Austin take the lead?” Witness “Yes. Karmelo put his hand in the bag and said five times, ‘Touch me and see what happens.’ Austin said he’s not going to touch this guy. He was calm.” Prosecutor Bill Wirskye: “What did you see during the stabbing?” Witness “You saw a big hole and blood coming from his upper body.” Prosecutor Bill Wirskye: “At some point, did you decide to unfreeze and do something.” Witness: “Yes, he had a knife, so we ran to the left side of the field. Let me be clear about what happened in the Karmelo Anthony jury selection. Because the lies are traveling and the truth isn't. FACT: 100% of eligible Black jurors were dismissed. FACT: The prosecution used peremptory strikes to remove the final three remaining Black jurors all women, all educators. FACT: Their stated reason was "we don't want educators on the jury." FACT: The judge allowed a WHITE educator to remain on the jury. FACT: The Batson challenge the legal objection to racially motivated jury strikes — was denied. Result: A Black teenager in Texas faces 5 to 99 years before an all-white jury. Now here's what they want you to believe: that one Black juror who told the court he couldn't be impartial somehow explains all of this away. It doesn't. One juror self-selecting out does not explain three prosecutorial strikes that removed every remaining Black juror while a white educator kept their seat. The truth isn't complicated. We are back in court for the afternoon session in the Karmelo Anthony trial. The judge has just asked the media NOT to identify upcoming witnesses who are minors. We were not told who the minors are or what they will be testifying to.

@BuckSexton Karmelo Anthony had no legal obligation to ‘obey’ Austin Metcalf. Austin Metcalf had no legal authority over him. Austin Metcalf had no legal right to assault him. Becoming belligerent isn’t a crime. Stabbing someone who didn’t assault you is. But guess what Austin did?

We have now heard from six teens who were at the stadium the day Austin Metcalf was stabbed by Karmelo Anthony. Four out of the six are black . All have testified that Karmelo Anthony was asked to leave the Memorial HS team tent, provoked Austin Metcalf, and pulled a knife *before or while* Austin had even pushed Karmelo. "I'm not going to fight you at a track meet, dude,' Austin told Karmelo, according to teen #3. During cross examination , defense attorney asks, 'Did he (Austin) grab hold of him (Karmelo?) Teen #4 says, "He didn't get the chance to grab hold of him. He was already stabbed." Teen #6 described watching the verbal back and forth between Austin and Karmelo, while Karmelo had his hands in his backpack and claimed he had something in his bag. 'The vein in his arm was visible. It looked like he was grabbing something,' teen #6 said.
