@GameDadVII I miss gaming from back in the day when there was virtually no hate. A lot of these folks are too young to remember when it was cool to go over your friend’s house when they had a Sega and you had a Nintendo and just vibe.

The current gaming culture confuses me. People get so excited when a game they weren't excited for doesn't have glowing reviews. I absolutely understand not being interested, or excited, in a game. But being happy when it underperformes doesn't jive with me.

I finished Fallout 4's main story. Made me sad. I liked the story, but it's the world that I really fell in love with. Gonna clear the map now and hope those New Vegas and F3 remakes come soon 🤞

I'm going to call this right now. We are going to have a large population with absolutely no critical thinking skills if they blindly trust AI for everything. We have all already seen it. They don't validate outputs. They don't really understand anything. They just ask questions, it looks good, and they go with it. There are going to be huge issues in every company as this continues over the years. The amount of technical debt and knowledge gaps are going to be insane. So much opportunity if you actually know what you're doing.

I dunno if he is saying this, but I do notice a lot of YouTubers seem to hold off for the prevailing opinion before sharing theirs, in fear of having the "wrong" opinion. Makes it hard for real discussions on any kind of topic. Apple, for example, is notorious for cutting journalists off who dare criticize them even slightly.

Here's some of the DLSS 5 material we saw in the demos but didn't get a chance to film. Here I think you can see the strengths of DLSS 5 - reflections become much more attractive. Starfield doesn't have great lighting to begin with, so the differences can be profound.

Digital Foundry was super excited about the DLSS 5 announcement (because it was awesome) so they published a "FIRST LOOK" showing it off and praising it. Then the angry anti-AI mob came for them and ripped them apart and they got bullied into backpedalling. "We should have waited before posting our first round of coverage. We should have waited to see reactions from the audience." Translation: "We should have waited to see what the consensus mob opinion was before we posted our own individual thoughts." This is the reason why games suck these days. The mob bullies people into groupthink. People get so scared of giving their take they wait until the "Consensus approved opinion™️" is formed before they speak. Nobody wants to risk having the first/independent thought and risk being yelled at by the angry mob. It's super unfortunate, and the backpedalling here makes it worse because it signals cowardice and the majority of the mob doesn't care anyways, they'll find a new thing to hate.

@Dry417 @HammerPub @TheMG3D Did you know that Nvidia shrinkflates the GPUs? 980 had 72% of CUDA cores of 980 Ti. 3080 had 82% of 3090. 5080 is now 50% of 5090. In 9xx generation this would be x60 ti level card lol
