Minimum wage is the minimum, so you don’t get an average lifestyle. If you’re on minimum wage, you have to strive a little to do better - get a promotion, change jobs, get a side hustle. Or just cohabit with a partner (a 2 minimum wage household has a perfectly decent standard of living). People have to help themselves, and listen when they’re told how to help themselves.

Yes, that's exactly how I feel. It's so foreign to me that I can't imagine it. I had to work quite hard for a long time to quit hearing songs in my head, for example. It's fascinating. If I may be bold: Do you enjoy listening to music more or less due to this? Does it affect that aspect of your life? I don't mean to pry.
