I think by even requesting they pull back marketing to 60% as you said before is requesting they change their marketing strategy. I run a large FFVII page with over 160,000 members. Trust me the majority is happy for the news and hype. Im telling you what I tell most members who want to avoid spoilers. Just dont read them.

@Ahleckss @KenMastersUSA I did not ask them to not market their game, that is twisting it and you know that. Also in that letter I would’ve changed the end to ”From some FF fans”. I simply think that it would be more powerful, for everyone, if we get to discover some of these mysteries in the game.

So... the crash outs have reached the point of "fan" letters to the developers (Hamaguchi) to stop giving detailed interviews? Is that really where we are in this fandom?

I think thats for the best, for your experience anyways. If you want to keep these things a surprise it comes at the expense of being on the hype train with other players. But you can always join back in once you've played. Its not fair to ask the developers to not market the game their releasing. But you can control what you see and what you take in.

@Ahleckss @KenMastersUSA Yup - as it seems, even though I see alot of people agreeing - I am in the minority here, I will simply not watch the trailers, and probably not read the interviews either. It does shock me - that so many just want to know the experience beforehand, but it is not my decision.

This is hype building and setting expectations for players. Did you know the original trailer for FFVII back in 1996-1997 actually showed Aeriths death, and meteor? With a fanbase like FFVII more information is welcome. Theorycrafters, artists, gaming pages all tailor their posts with new information in mind and thus the game stays relevant and has people talking. I welcome any new interviews. There are some obvious things they are keeping tightly under wraps but with each trailer and interview me, and so many other people will welcome it. I get you dont want spoilers. Best thing to do imo is to not read the articles and stay away from social media related to FFVII until the game gets closer to release.

@KenMastersUSA For example, all this info: - The fact that we know exactly how many hours the intro is before the highwind - Knights of the round are in the game - Post game bosses in relation to Final Boss Strentgh And more, are all things I wish I didn’t know. And they just came scrolling.

I believe that these quotes are really important to the story. In the original Bugenhagen gives time for Cloud to reflect inward, what desires lie deep in his heart. There is an NPC in cosmo canyon that talks about her theory of what the lifestream is, and what the other planes of existence entails. I think this is so important. Zack mentions this as well to Biggs, to hold on to their hopes and dreams. I believe that these worlds are born from desire, regret, hopes and dreams. We see this when Cloud is taken to Aeriths '' dream'' world. This is an obvious reflection of her desire, hopes, dreams and regret. To spend one normal day with Cloud, one she hopes is separated from their fates. The NPC's in this scene seemingly reflect on Aerith's inner feelings. When Cloud saved Aerith, a world was born, one of Cloud's desire, regret, hopes and dreams. In this world Aerith lives, shes saved. Seemingly these worlds are doomed to fail, because they are cut off from the main source (lifestream). Cloud stands between these worlds, in doing so he's fracturing, he lives in a space where Aerith both lives and dies. Zack's conversation with Marlene is important to this, she tells Zack that if Cloud wakes up in these worlds, Aerith will die. So he has to make Cloud better before she wakes up. I think this is because of the control Sephiroth has over Cloud, playing on his grief and pain towards losing Aerith. Everywhere Cloud is, Sephiroth can find him. Peering through him like a looking glass. Cloud will hopefully heal through characters like Zack and Tifa, so that he's able to finally see Aerith in the world he created, That grief and pain doesn't follow him and he's finally able to see her as the man he is, The man who holds love in his heart. One where Zack saves Cloud, so he can save Aerith. I think Zacks line '' Just as worlds reunite they part, but who's to say they can't reunite again.'' is so important. (this is just a theory)

This is how I've always seen it, I think that the planet remembers the original FFVII, along with characters like Sephiroth and Aerith. However the new story separates itself very early from AC, we end remake by fighting off the remnants, Kadaj, Loz, Yazoo, and later the fate that binds them to the original timeline of events. We see certain easter eggs eluding to it, like Vincent's graffiti, but we are told early on that the events of AC are where the party is going if they fail to branch off the path. I think the re-trilogy is focusing on not just fate, but healing, while bringing in the compilation into a new canon, that respects the old canon still exists in a sense, as a karmic memory. I really think this game is going to challenge us in how we view healing. Cloud isn't just the hero for this story, he's the battlefield. Sephiroth, not afraid of dying, but afraid of being forgotten is using this traumatic grief to anchor himself in this world. Aerith's death acts as both the catalyst for Clouds grief and pain, but also the answer in healing. The original FFVII created a wound, a wound in the planet, a wound in Cloud, and Sephiroth learned how to exploit that. I think it's asking something so human, Can people heal? And if they can, maybe the greatest tragedy in gaming history can finally become a story about overcoming pain, Cloud can finally heal the wound that cause his separation from Aerith.

@Ahleckss Their not in a relationship. It's a close friendship. That's literally cannon to ff7. Aeris likes Cloud, Cloud deeply cares, but Cloud and Tifa end up together. It's in orginal, it's in rebirth, and it'll be in revelation.

@Ahleckss I mean, a reunion probably but they aren't gonna have a relationship. Cloud and Tifa are the only 2 that keep nearly kissing and they do in Gold Saucer if you get her on the date. In the original, Tifa restores Cloud and then they sit next to each other under the highwind
