I can’t lie to you, man. That interview from @Johnny__Kane with Jalen Duren and Ausar Thompson after this game is surreal. They both suffered through the worst season in franchise history just two years ago. And two years later, one of them is arguably the best defensive player in the league, the other might make All-NBA team, and they have quadrupled their win total from two years ago en route to securing the #1 seed. I try to suppress my fan side and stay strictly analytical, professional. But, I’d be lying to you guys if I said that moment ain’t get a proud as hell smile outta me.

@brandongrhockey @anthonypollifro Watson’s implemented both Lalonde & McLellan’s systems more effectively than either have with the Wings. It’s crazy how well his teams adapted to both styles of play, and how quickly players adjust. GR has talented players, but they work so well together.

@brandongrhockey Dan Watson & Roope Koistinen have earned their call ups. Idk why people aren’t buying this notion, but maybe they haven’t watched Watson’s teams long enough to understand his impact. (Koistinen has been a revelation, too…I get the goalies are talented, but he’s done so well)

@QLeeMitchell You shouldn't be rude to people, but we all have a voice, I suppose. Not understanding that 1 defenseman does not impact the 2nd or 3rd d-pairings is a choice. Enjoy your delusions of grandeur.

@AllThingsDET You shouldn't have a podcast if you don't understand what strong puck controlling players does for a team. We have no defenseman that can begin a rush, or does so regularly. Edvinsson is great, absolutely. But Hughes is a fucking Norris winner. Eddy NEVER will be.
