dropping Super Metroid while claiming to be a Metroidvania fan is akin to claiming to be a Catholic but saying Jesus was a rando psycho

Every single Metroidvania I ever played tier list Very addicting genre

@typicalf001 I'm pretty picky with metroidvanias, but Pseudoregalia is definitely up there for me. What were the three disappointments?
English

That's cool. Anyways here's my top 50 metroidvanias as of right now. One of my favorite video game genres , and before anyone asks the lowest rated game on the list is an 8/10. Only three metroidvanias disappointed me and they didn't make the list. Love 'em all.

streamer “accidentally” plays obscure itch.io game instead of watching the Nintendo Direct (picture of me making a thumbnail face)
Palette Swap@PaletteSwapMag
A Twitch streamer mistakenly spent 42 minutes reacting to a Nintendo Direct presentation from June 2023 this morning.

@Niflheimm155983 @UnderTheMayo How old are we talking lol. I'll 100% play MKX. In fact, I missed out on MK11 and Injustice 2, so if you happen to get those lmk.

@UnderTheMayo MK seems cool, if they ever come out with another good one I’d be willing to try it
Idk if any of the homies still actively play the old ones

So while I was gone/banned, I tried out fighting games and I’ve actually been pleasantly surprised with how quickly I’ve been able to start having a lot of fun
So far I’ve played a few hours each of Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 and SF6 (first one was because friends asked me to ok, I would never willingly play an anime game otherwise haha)
Anyway SF6 has definitely been easier for me to get into as a beginner, but Xrd is more fun. And obviously with Xrd I’m kind of stuck playing friends and singleplayer, since it doesn’t have a big playerbase with other noobs for me to fight - although honestly it feels like I’m at a disadvantage against my fellow SF6 noobs because I’m not using modern controls. Need to buckle down and practice the motion inputs and such

@Niflheimm155983 @amiguello1 Also for quitting Rabbit and Steel after one run. You know what, go ahead and suspend him again. It builds character.

Died to Duriel in Diablo 2, couldn’t get back to my corpse with no gear, googled if there was an easier way, and then the google AI thingy told me “just save and quit bro”
Turns out that works for getting your gear back, but I lost all my potions and over 100k gold so I think this is a good stopping point for me lol, surprisingly decent game though
English

@Niflheimm155983 Some fighting games are more mechanically simple than others, but it's usually best to stick with whatever looks coolest and figure out the details later. Xrd is complicated, but that can give you more cool things to latch onto. I'm just happy to finally play it.
English

i beg yall to please just play some indie games. they're way cheaper, and 10x more interesting than anything you'll get out of a nintendo game. there are plenty of alternatives.

Star Fox will be $49.99 digitally. Physical price will most likely be $59.99, but not confirmed.

@Niflheimm155983 Big jumps are more doable than you might think. My biggest jump was 460 -> 500 when I finally killed the boss. I think once you learn how to handle the Gigapedes you'll see a substantial increase, although that is probably the biggest hurdle of the game.

@Niflheimm155983 I tried to like Disco Elysium. I heard the writing was the greatest in the industry and moves the medium forward as an art form. Turns out it's for people who cry laughing at Critical Role highlights. Also, The Witcher 3 is the king of all reddit games.
English

@Niflheimm155983 It took me a while to get used to it, but I'm glad I did. Definitely feels like the intended way to play certain games even if it's technically a disadvantage.
English

@rose_phantasm I've been using Steam notes and sorting by zone. I've been writing almost everything down, but it doesn't seem too necessary early on. It gets pretty easy to backtrack, so I can always revisit previous areas if I really get stuck.
English

@Anonymous7885 How did you approach note taking? In-game or pen and paper? I have yet to play it, but heard a little about the experience.
English

@Niflheimm155983 Have you tried modded DOOM? I've been playing a couple of those recently. combine-kegan.itch.io/combined-arms
