Accessibility balloon drill 🎈Our brand new cognitive overload simulation! Complete a task on a mobile site without dropping the balloon! A great way to start discussing cognitive impairments like adhd and autism. So many distractions! Here at an #a11y course with UX:ers!

So, we got mad at Toggles and decided to write an article about Why Toggles Suck! axesslab.com/toggles-suck/ If you have some terrible toggle-examples, please share em!

If you work with usability tests, here's a simple tip on how to make them more inclusive 🦄 TLDR: Never use the word "test" when communicating with your users. "Feedback" is a good alternative. #a11y #ux axesslab.com/testing-a-scar…

@gracesnow Hi, great suggestion! We'd have hoped that Apple fixed the issue on their end so it wouldn't be an issue at all. Or that may be `role="presentation"` or `role="none"` would do the job. Like:
As many elements as you want

“accessible design is parent friendly design" — I was literally laughing out loud at this one, having experienced most of it myself too! axesslab.com/parent-a11y/ from @AxessLab via Accessibility Weekly newsletter

@sreberkowiec Sorry about that! Was frustrated when I wrote it. Had to get it out. But not very constructive to just complain. Anyway, the main advice I wanted to get across was: "Always show an error message when a user clicks a button and something is wrong." Thanks for the feedback! Hampus

@AxessLab axesslab.com/disabled-butto… I just read your article, about the disabled buttons - and I must say it's not very accessible, I had to read it twice to find _any_ advice what to do instead, and it was just one paragraph in a 3-page rant about how disabled buttons suck.

@tinitun @smashingmag Completely agree. Problem is that few (anyone?) show error messages when users try to click disabled buttons.

Is it a good idea to disable “submit” or “continue” button if some input is incorrect is missing? Probably not: we are missing out on an opportunity to communicate to customers what exactly is wrong, and how to fix it. “Disabled buttons suck” by @AxessLab axesslab.com/disabled-butto…

@RealChatbaute Okay then empty alt would probably be the least bad option 🙌🏽

@AxessLab Thanks! It’s for a digital yearbook. Users can upload up to 10 photos with optional caption. They will all appear on the same page so I was trying to avoid redundant alt text. They also appear in a big photo album of all users.
