Re: Oilers/Ducks controversy. The ruling on the ice should’ve been “no goal” No ref saw the puck cross the line in real time. Therefore, the replay review *should’ve* been to prove it crossed the line. There’s no clear view of the full puck and therefore should’ve been no goal.

We've talked about it before - how much would a line 3 inches (the diameter of the puck) behind the goal line make reviews easier? Puck hits the second line and the goal counts.

@wyshynski @Sportsnet The precedent is set that it doesn’t matter if it’s logical it crossed the line. The video doesn’t show it across the line. The issue is lazy refs calling it a good goal without seeing it go in. And video review is technically inconclusive.

@Someoneguy19 @BatmansTattman @barstoolsports They saw a shot, puck deflected through the legs, then immediately a player reaction. Officials have to make calls based on that sort of evidence all the time. Especially when they have the confidence of knowing there will be a video review, that call is perfectly reasonable.
