@JorgeCastilloPr Same, got burned with Compose early but I'm sure it's much better now. Haven't really found a justification to move away from Views though

@howtomen When are they going to open up the Google Tensor SoC SDK? We are on the 5th generation and still have to request access

I'll be interviewing the Head of Android at Google, Sameer Samat. What are some questions you'd like me to ask him? 🤔 Any curious questions that you may have. I'll choose some of the top liked questions to ask.

This is purely speculation, but I wonder if this is what the @SwingVisionApp team is using to help bring their app to Android. In their video from about a year ago they also mentioned that Google was working on video capture improvements. Guessing that's with CameraX lib

🟢 Using Spring Boot with Kotlin results in less boilerplate and more clarity. With data classes and @ConfigurationProperties, you get concise, immutable, and type-safe configuration objects that are easy to maintain. Get started with the official documentation 👇 kotl.in/4gphnb

I'm going to have to revisit Compose. The 2 big reasons for me not using Compose were: - Performance was nowhere close to views - API is unstable/inconsistent (changes too often) for me to rely on it in an production environment. - Architectural fit with a fragments based app.
Android Developers@AndroidDev

You told us performance is one of your biggest concerns with Compose, and we listened! In the Jetpack Compose December '25 release we're bringing you improved runtime performance 🏎️ → goo.gle/4432xjV Other updates include: ⏸️ Pausable composition in lazy prefetch is now enabled by default 💅 Material 1.4 🎒 New retain API 💃 New animation features 👀 A heads up about some upcoming changes

So glad this is finally out! androidx.webgpu brings the WebGPU API to Android developers. Having access to a modern GPU API in Kotlin without dealing with the OpenGL legacy nor the complexity of Vulkan is exciting! developer.android.com/jetpack/androi…

Just got the most dreaded email from Google Play. Less than a month after launching my app. Hope it’s just a mistake that can be fixed through an appeal, but the vague explanation and lack of details still make my stomach sink. My dream and months of work are on the line...

@bmfshow This should probably be a framework provided by Meta or game engines like Unity. Easy plug in solution for all apps to integrate. Especially with how popular the Quest is with children.

I know not everyone will care about this but I'd love to see a #&@$ mode in Deadpool VR just for those of use who don't want to listen to constant vulgarity. Like a bleep mode where the profanity is bleeped out would be amazing. Technically would be comic book accurate to some degree too 🙏. Not likely but I hope someone who is working on the game sees this and decides to add it even at a later time in a patch or update. I love the charactersl of Deadpool but don't really care to hear constant profanity.

@rmeestudios Square is easily the best especially when your cash flow is low. As you grow, I'd recommend something like Clover. It requires a subscription but comes with a lot of features you'd have to pay for on Square anyway. Don't be afraid to factor Square's fees in your pricing.

How are we accepting card payments for our small businesses? Square has terrible customer service and is really expensive, but also has no monthly fee and convenient hardware. Anybody have tips?

Hey Palmer, congrats on IVAS. I first tested augmented reality in 2015 in the SEAL Teams. I used Microsoft’s IVAS in the middle stages. I think you guys can do a great job here. I wanted to share something to keep in mind as you move forward with the IVAS effort: when you are on the battlefield, your senses keep you alive (sight, smell, hearing, touch) ; clouding or overwhelming your senses with data/ information with an AR headset in front of your face on the battlefield can get you or your teammates killed. The first thing we would do as SEALs getting off the helo is let our senses adjust to the environment/ battlefield - learned by UDTs in WW2 continued 80 years later in AFG & IZ. I saw a lot of folks involved with IVAS in its early days who didnt realize this important point cause they've never been in combat or never been in a real fire-fight or just rather never say anything. Obviously the battlefield is evolving and new tech is demanded here and can help, but there are some principles of war that never change. Know you guys will crush this for the warfighter.

Anduril is taking over IVAS, and we don't have time for business as usual. Whatever you are imagining, however crazy you imagine I am, multiply it by ten and then do it again.  I am back, and I am only getting started.

Anduril is taking over the @USArmy's Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) program pending @DeptofDefense approval. We are now fully responsible for production, hardware, software, and integrating Lattice to greatly expand warfighter capabilities.

Hey All, Just wanted to give you an update on why I have been MIA for the past couple of months. I have been dealing some some serious medical issues. My liver is not doing that great right now, and I have been going to the doctors, getting tests done and waiting for answers. What I know now is that I have F2-F3 Fibrous which is liver damage, and only a step or two away from complete liver failure. I also have a potential clot in the veins that go to my liver. We are trying to figure out what is causing the damage, considering I don't drink. Initial impressions are non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, but there are some weird genetic markers going on as well. With some other issues as well, as you can guess it's been messing with me mentally. It's hard for me to focus on anything, with out having a clear answer of whats going on. I am hoping at the end of this, I can reverse the damage with a life style change(eating healthy, and exercise) but with out having that conclusion yet it's difficult for me to really concentrate on my work right now.
