St. Thomas considers the argument from motion to be the most evident, but to me the argument from contingency seems much more evident, which leads me to believe there is something in the argument from motion that I am missing

This is incredibly ignorant and unintentionally hilarious. 1) Mozart's music is not "shaped around the mass." If it's shaped around anything, it's Sonata form. Only a small portion of his thousands of pieces of music are liturgical. He also wrote an opera entitled All Women Are Like That and, of course, Don Giovanni, which recounts the man's many seductions. 2) Mozart was a Freemason! He, indeed, wrote an opera, The Magic Flute, about the wonders of Freemasonry. I hope Afro-Catholic Man doesn't discover this well-known fact, as it will send him down another rabbit hole. 2) Pitch and key are relative. Orchestras tune to A 440 Hz, that is, vibrations per second. In Mozart's time, the pitch was lower, but we can't know for sure. But keys can be transposed up and down, and they frequently are. Do you honestly believe that if an orchestra accidentally tunes to A 430, that the music will sound differently? That anyone—outside someone with extremely perfect pitch—could tell the difference? 3) All of this demonstrates that Afro-Catholic Man lacks even an elementary knowledge of music or music history—and yet he's lecturing us on "saving Western civilization"! 4) ACM's market niche seems to be as your "based black friend," whose bigotry you can point to, to prove that you're not racist. The irony is that his cultural commentary resembles the type of absurd conspiracy theories that plague the African-American community.

Give gratitude to God for even the most minor trials and mishaps. For even they are intended or permitted as little purgations. Small flames that lick away the grime of life in the world. Little occasions for self-sacrifice so we may become more pure. Simpler.

Christians need to have more dedication to achieving the social kingship of Christ than communists or any other fanatic group has for eliminating it

x.com/kjvcards Candace Owens (@RealCandaceO) and Tucker Carlson (@TuckerCarlson) have begun to drink from the Cup of Trembling: Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion. But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob. Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? Will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head; Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes... ye were healed. x.com/kjvcards

St. Bonaventure: "Frequent reception of the Eucharist is good for the recipient with a pure heart and burning charity; but with a cold and tepid heart it is expedient rarely; in the middle manner it befits one of middling disposition to approach sometimes, sometimes to abstain."

The Baltimore Catechism follows St. Thomas (Quod. 1.5.1) in that, while we should be ready to accept any punishment rather than sin, it is not good to dwell on the particular sufferings involved with martyrdom and the like, since this only serves to tempt us to cowardice.

Analogous predication of distinct perfections is extremely easy to reconcile with divine simplicity since it’s simply reducible to the finite of our minds, for which reason the essence is represented quoad nos as composed of distinct perfections The question of trinitarian distinction is more difficult but if resolved by the fact that they are distinct only in their relations, with the numerically one divine nature remaining completely undivided, ensuring divine simplicity

Yes. Aquinas 's view is admittedly a little confusing, but think of it as how the Simple Essence relates to itself through its activity within itself. The Essence itself is loved and beloved, and these relations of one "thing" to itself subsist within in, even though there is only one "thing". God does not have "parts" (divine simplicity), but the relationships that subsist within the one being define the distinction between the persons of the Trinity. The Son is not the Father, but God is coequal and coeternal in Himself. It's difficult to wrap your head around, but analogical predication helps to explain the limitations of human language when describing God.

@PhilCatholic @WalmartThomist I want to read more of him. The biggest thing I remember from his summa summae was his argument that aseity cannot be the formal constituent of the divine nature due to its application to all essential predicates of God
