Baan Mae is one of the most exciting restaurants in DC right now. The food is so vibrant - colors flavors, textures. Start with the tapioca dumplings (eat wrapped in lettuce) and salad - funky tea leaf & crowd pleasing banana blossom. Mango sticky rice, meet ice cream sticky rice

Vijaya Dashami is a few days away and today in Lao PDR, I saw a part of the Lao Ramayana, highlighting the victory of Prabhu Shri Ram over Ravan. It is heartening to see the people here remain in touch with the Ramayan. May the blessings of Prabhu Shri Ram always remain upon us!

With all these new restaurant openings(mine included!) don't forget how excellent Padeek is. I could and probably should, eat here every week. @ChefSeng

Checked out the new Arlington location of Laotian restaurant @PadaekDC, from the owner of @thipkhaoDC. It has a great menu with many vegetarian options and regal service. Their new DC spot Baan Mae (1604 7th St NW) is opening next month with cocktails and seasonal Laotian dishes.

Pittsburgh is lucky to have a Laotian restaurant, too. Highly recommend Kiin Lao & Thai Eatery in Squirrel Hill. The chef was trained by the esteemed @ChefSeng of @thipkhaoDC in Washington, DC.
