@anaesthetic_spr @kcisc If I fly on a commercial aircraft I expect the captain of the aircraft to have a “traditional” commercial pilot’s licence gained from the “traditional” number of hours and training accrued towards that. Likewise the Chief Pilot of that airline.

Today's adventure in being a UK GP shows why the system is creaking. Of 30 patients on my list today, 3 were GP problems; rest are waiting for definitive secondary care treatment. Manager added our actual GP work (hypertension reviews) as extras because we have no time anymore.

@sunshine222blue @anaesthetic_spr Very few doctors (worth their salt) think any aspect of nursing is “basic” and many of us still remember reliance upon them on wards and experience it with practice nurses. The point is this job title is misleading and confusing.

Nice idea but will never happen. Nordic and Baltic countries mobilise society because they still believe national defence is a shared duty. Here there is no political appetite/guts to change from any party. And most of the voting public want security without sacrifice.
