I just had a fascinating comment left under one of my tweets. An account full of negative images of Indigenous people, with scathing comments, just criticised me for having a comfy study. Seems if you’re a poor Indigenous person, living in strained conditions, you’re open to criticism from racists. If you’re a successful Indigenous person, with a “comfy study” the same racists criticise you for being successful. It seems that whatever we do, we cop criticism, the real issue is, we’re Indigenous, and will never be acceptable to racists. Indigenous we were born, Indigenous we will die.
