Meanwhile, ours are busy spending on cars, watches, designer wear, baddies, houses with bad curtains and sad landscaping, Dubai and London dead assets etc. Very low quality.

Seen the conference programme. Quite rich and covering key topical issues that should give our Ambassadors, High Commissioners and Honorary Consuls a clear picture of our foreign policy in action. Kenya is at a pivotal place in its foreign policy history and as aptly titled, the geopolitics of the day has resulted in an a-la-carte approach to our international relations, carefully selecting who we engage with, what we engage on and how we engage with them depending on our national interest and often times finding the script quite different in a multipolar world. I trust the conversations are candid, with lessons shared from our successes and even our missteps and sharpening our tools in the process towards economic prosperity and peace in our corner and our world. Good job PS and team.

During the opening session of the 19th Ambassadors’ Conference held in Safari Park Nairobi, themed “Advancing Kenya’s National Interests in a Rapidly Evolving Geopolitical Landscape,” and presided over by H.E. @WilliamsRuto, I outlined the strategic direction the State Department for Foreign Affairs is pursuing. We convene at a moment of profound transition in the international system. Geopolitical alignments are shifting, economic relations are being recalibrated, and competition for influence, markets, and strategic space is intensifying. This conference provides a timely platform to reflect, recalibrate, and sharpen Kenya’s foreign policy priorities. I highlighted our ongoing efforts to optimize Kenya’s expansive diplomatic property portfolio through a Public-Private Partnership framework. This approach is designed to strengthen Kenya’s global positioning by transforming our overseas assets into high-value, strategic investments. We are implementing an ambitious asset management, acquisition, and development strategy aimed at repositioning these properties as impactful public assets. I also underscored the State Department’s commitment to bringing diplomacy closer to the people through the Foreign Policy Mashinani initiative. In partnership with the Kenya Model United Nations (KMUN), we are further expanding this outreach to empower and inspire the youth of Kenya and motivate the next generation committed to international solidarity. @ForeignOfficeKE #AmbassadorsConfKE2026 #AmbassadorsConferenceKE #DiplomacyInActionKE

Such a good run in service by @FaithOdhiambo8 . At such a pivotal time in our governance, you stood out and fearlessly took on duty bearers who had abdicated their role to serve Kenyans and ensured the rule of law reigned supreme. Wishing my schooolmate @ckanjama all the best as he takes up office. His tenure will include a general election and this crucial period of the electoral cycle needs a robust and alert @LawSocietyofKe.
Faith Odhiambo@FaithOdhiambo8

I presided over the @LawSocietyofKe 2026 Annual General Meeting in Machakos earlier today. At the end of the meeting, I witnessed the swearing in of @ckanjama and the 2026-2028 Council, and handed over the instruments of the presidency to the 52nd President. It has been an honour serving the Law Society of Kenya and the Country. I wish Senior Counsel and his team well in their tour of service.

📢BREAKING: Following the objection from plurality of states, the flawed process for legitimising the candidacy of former Senegalese President Macky Sall in the AU collapsed. We applaud these states for standing for AU rules. Macky Sall remains a candidate who does not have the endorsement of the @_AfricanUnion.

@AmbokoJH Yesterday I drove into Total Kileleshwa on an empty tank. They were capping fuel at KES 2,000. Drove down to Total Dennis Pritt and was able to get a full tank. So will he take action against Total or Total Kileleshwa?

Kenya's Energy & Petroleum CS on security of petroleum product supply in the country: · He says there's adequate supply/stock, discourages panic buying · He points a finger at a section of retailers whom he accuses of engaging in hoarding in anticipation of price adjustments, threatens action that will impact their licensing. Says EPRA gazetted prices must be adhered to · He says the state has not received any indication from G2G partners (Saudi Aramco, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company & Emirates National Oil Company) that the terms of agreement for supply are under threat

PBO REGULATORY AUTHORITY (PBORA)
The Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority (PBORA) has the pleasure to inform all the public benefit organizations (PBOs), development partners, and all the stakeholders that the long-awaited Public Benefit Organizations (PBO) Regulations, have been published. The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen, published the regulations in a Special Issue of the Kenya Gazette Supplement No. 67 (Legal Notice No. 43), dated 18 March 2026. The publication of the Regulations in the Kenya Gazette marks a crucial step towards a robust regulatory framework for the PBO sector in Kenya as the regulations will now operationalize the PBO Act, 2013 and this comes at a good time to enable the PBOs that have been registered under the repealed NGOs Coordination Act to transition to the PBO Act framework. The Regulations were developed jointly by the Authority and the PBO sector in a participatory manner that has brought a sense of ownership and sustainability to the sector. The regulations can be accessed from the Authority’s website at pbora.go.ke and the Ministry of Interior and National Administration website at interior.go.ke. ^MN

@LweyaJoe @wanguwamajani On paper (in the Bible) yes. Not may churches practice this level of accountability as envisioned in the book of Acts combined with best practice today.

@Conomore @wanguwamajani That structure is sound - but a church can be successfully autonomous if they want, and do what they're intended to do as guided by the book of Acts. Remember a church is a democracy, with annual AGMs as guided by local laws and with deacons and elders as laid down in the Bible.

Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria Early African Winners as They Harvest Windfall from the Misery of US–Israel vs Iran War As the world reels from the escalation of the US–Israel vs Iran war that erupted on 28 February, the humanitarian suffering is profound. Yet in the realm of global commerce, a quieter upheaval is underway. With the Red Sea and Strait of Hormuz rendered near impassable – shipping traffic down by 90% – Africa has emerged as the world’s most vital logistics corridor. •In KENYA, the once-forgotten LAMU PORT has roared to life. Long dismissed by critics as a white elephant, it has seen a 974% surge in volume. Ultra-large vessels, too deep for Mombasa and too exposed for Gulf waters, now dock at Lamu’s 18-metre natural depth. •ETHIOPIA'S national carrier Ethiopian Airlines has seized the moment. With Dubai and Doha mostly paralysed by airspace risks from Iranian missile and droke strikes, Addis Ababa has become the continent’s primary air-bridge. Cargo revenue is up 14%. High-value goods – electronics, pharmaceuticals, perishables –are now routed through Bole International, bypassing the 40-day sea detour. •NIGERIA is counting its crude. Brent prices hit $120 per barrel in March. Against a budget benchmark of $64.85, daily revenues have doubled. The government has stumbled into an unexpected multi-billion dollar fiscal cushion. •DURBAN, South Africa’s main port, has shed its reputation for congestion. It is now clocking 28 crane moves per hour, processing thousands of ships rerouted around the Cape of Good Hope with a rare level of precision. •MOROCCO'S Royal Air Maroc has moved swiftly. Ten new international routes –including Los Angeles and Beirut – have siphoned off transit passengers who once relied on Middle Eastern hubs. Casablanca traffic is up 12%. •WALVIS BAY in Namibia has become the first reliable refuelling station for ships emerging from the South Atlantic. Bunkering demand is up 30%. •The DANGOTE Petroleum Refinery has in Nigeria, is cashing in. In March, it issued an export tender for 84,000 metric tonnes of jet fuel and diesel. It is no longer just a domestic project – it is replacing Persian Gulf supplies for the continent. •MOZAMBIQUE'S $20 billion LNG project has been fast-tracked. TotalEnergies resumed operations in early 2026. Over 4,000 workers are racing to meet an accelerated production date. Iranian gas is out. Mozambican gas is in. •At Mozambique's PORT of MAPUTO, volumes grew by 16% in the weeks following the war’s outbreak. Chrome and coal exporters have abandoned northern routes in favour of the safer Indian Ocean–Cape corridor. •MAURITIUS, ever shrewd, has leveraged its mid-ocean position into a 15% revenue increase. High-end logistics and emergency repair services are now its bread and butter. But no doubt, the most intriguing twist is the Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) revolution in Lamu. Manufacturers are using RoRo ships – where vehicles are driven on and off via ramps – to offload thousands of cars. These are then ferried to the Gulf on small, low-risk boats to avoid the $200,000+ war risk insurance premiums slapped on large carriers entering the Strait of Hormuz. To protect this windfall, Kenya and Ethiopia have launched joint military operations along the once-languishing Lamu Port–South Sudan–Ethiopia Transport (LAPSSET) corridor. This unprecedented coordination is designed to ensure that the new “safe harbour” of Lamu remains shielded from regional spillover. And because the closure of the Strait of Hormuz marooned shipping containers, an emergency air-bridge has formed. Nairobi and Addis Ababa are now the primary transit points for consumer electronics flown from Asia to Europe—bypassing the the 17,700KM sea detour. US leader Donald Trump despises Africa, once labelling its countries "sh*thole", but while many of them will be hit hard by rising energy and fertilisers from America and Israel's attack on Iran, several of them will get a bounty he would never have wished for them.

A split in the Roman Catholic Church would have a big impact compared to the Anglican Church. Because of how they are structured. I identify with most of what the Global South Anglicans advocate for (and against) except the fact that their outfit, GAFCON does not support Womens ordination despite several of their member provinces ordinating women. Read this piece. Interesting. gavindrake.co.uk/2026/03/06/run…

You could have attended virtually. On the Anglican communion manenos, worry not. Each Province is autonomous and the Archbishop of Canterbury is just “first amongst equals”. Different from the Roman Catholic Church that has a military command structure answerable to the Pope and the Papal organs in Rome. So you can continue being Anglican and hold your doctrine’s clear and not be affected by the shifting doctrine of Canterbury or any other diocese. Similarly they won’t be affected by shifting doctrine or practice by us.

That’s where I am. Born and bred here. Then did Nairobi Chapel for about 15 years (their children’s programme is A1) then returned to All Saints Cathedral (like I never left!). We are currently at the AGM. Accountability is so critical. Horizontal and vertical. Plus Financial, personal integrity, Information sharing etc, involvement of members in decision making etc. Those frameworks make you think twice before you dip your hands in the cookie jar or anywhere else. Just do a random search online for churches that post their accounts publicly. You won’t get 5.
