@StevenBridges @StanPodolak21 Seconding this. You are allowed to just walk out with the chips, in that case no CTR or ID required. Only if you wanted them cashed would a CTR be needed, or if you paid for chips with cash totaling more than 10k

Casino security/manager person pulled me off the table to ID me to check my age. I handed it over (I had $20k of chips so had to). They said they didn’t believe it was me in the ID! They then called the police. Police officer said the same thing. Crazy 😂

Earlier this year, the Big, BS Budget Bill changed how gambling losses are taxed by capping the deduction at 90%. That means some gamblers will owe taxes on money they never actually earned when they file starting in 2027. But we still have time to fix this. As long as we restore the tax deduction on gambling losses to 100% by the end of 2026, this unfair tax hike never takes effect. I’ll keep fighting next year to get my bipartisan #FAIRBETAct passed.

This blurb from CBP is very misleading. The money was crossing the border in/out of the US, and the holder did not declare it to customs. The car got selected to be searched and the cash was found. It’s illegal to carry over 10k in or out of the country without declaring.

insane illegal detainment situation at lake charles, most people in the comments don’t think it’s worth pursuing either. there are a lot of key differences in his case and mine due to the fact that the cops were the ones detaining him, so id have to agree that it wont be worth it

Showing ID will only confirm that I am who they think I am, or create another database entry. @tru3AP and I are both pro gamblers, they aren’t asking for our ID’s to gift us food and rooms lol

Today a slot hustler ran up to check a machine next to one I was checking. I just chuckled at him, and under his breath he said something like “I was coming here first”. I’m near ready to leave the EV laying around so I can get away from slot AP culture, it’s truly the worst.

Normally I would have cashed it in small amounts, but this place was tiny, one cage with two windows, it would have taken likely 2 days to get them all cashed and I needed to leave the casino that day.

Had $9,300 in chips today after playing at a place in the middle of nowhere, where I don’t intend to return, with an average to sub-par game. No backoff and wasn’t ID’d ever. What should I have done with the chips? I’ll post what I did and how it went after I see the results.

I forced the cash out without showing my ID, it did not go smoothly 😂. I said I was going through an identity issue and couldn’t show ID. Police, supervisors, and SAR threats later, I was cashed out. The scene wasn’t worth it, I’ll show ID if I end up in that spot again.

@SD1_AP Yes, but the casino is from a chain that is notoriously dumb/doesn’t contribute to databases often. No chance of facial recognition from them at this place.

Hotel housecleaners who knock on doors before the customer has checked out should be arrested. ESPECIALLY when there’s a do not disturb sign on the door. I’m on night 3 of this occurring, and as AP’s know those hours of sleep right up to checkout are crucial.
