@sincitycapital Again, I'm not for outlawing gambling but I will continue to say that casinos need regulation and a lot of it in regards to consumer protections. Maybe it never gets better but I'll continue to say it bc it's right. Ppl had the same attitude twds tobacco at one point.

@SD1_AP People are gonna gamble. They always have, always will. You're not gonna save anybody or change anybody's personality by retweeting somebody who says it's bad for casinos to advertise. That's gonna cause people to play MORE blackjack.

@sincitycapital Lol, ok. Still giving advice when they don't know. Yet, they say it confidently.

@SD1_AP Even if they only know basic strategy 70% it's better than a tourist with 0% who is asking. At the end of the day ANY card can come out giving them a 21 or making them bust. That's called gambling which is what the player is there to do and made the legal decision as an adult.

@sincitycapital I don't mistreat them here or in person. I always teach to give them a great experience when you play at their table. Never tip but be nice. They deal with a lot of assholes. Still, they give advice often and don't know what they are talking about. That's just a fact.

@SD1_AP It amazes me how card counters make dealers out to be their enemy like they represent the casino. They make min wage plus tips. The only people stopping you are surveillance and the floor supervisors/managers who back you off. It's annoying how APs treat dealers on social media

Rec book limits close a door but they open a window for sharp bettors to scale up once they know the game. But the devil you know is still the devil.

NEW: Problem gambling involving online sports betting appears to have reached unprecedented levels, according to a leading annual survey released today. The American Sport Fanship Survey, now in its third year, shows a dramatic worsening in user-reported behavior. The Siena Research Institute conducted the poll in February 2026, which included 3,084 responses from a proprietary online panel of U.S. residents. The margin of error was +/- 1.9%. More than a quarter (27%) of Americans have an active online sports betting account. Let’s look at the key findings among these users. 🚨 Percentage of online sports bettors who report chasing losses 2026: 60% 2025: 52% 2024: 53% 🚨 Percentage who say someone else has expressed concern about their betting 2026: 31% 2025: 23% 2024: 22% 🚨 Percentage who say they have lied about the extent of their betting 2026: 27% 2025: 20% 2024: 19% 🚨 Percentage who say they bet more than they should 2026: 42% 2025: 37% 2024: 38% 🚨 Percentage who say they feel bad or ashamed after losing a bet 2026: 43% 2025: 37% 2024: 37% 🚨 Percentage who who say they lose money that causes financial issues 2026: 26% 2025: 20% 2024: 18% 🚨 Percentage who who say they seek help for their gambling 2026: 15% 2025: 9% 2024: 9%

When @POTUS comes to Nevada this week, we must urge him to restore the 100% tax deduction for gambling losses. That’s fair policy.

Arizona’s gaming regulators are spending more on a lawsuit against prediction markets than on actually helping people struggling with gambling addiction. That’s a backwards priority.
Mick Bransfield@MickBransfield

Arizona Department of Gaming reveals tribal gaming is funding it's litigation with prediction markets. $3M so far. This seems like a few steps beyond regulatory capture. I wonder what other states they're doing this in? Article below.

I don’t want to RT/QT or even mention his name cause that’s exactly what he wants, but the Atlantic guy found a way to get clicks and is lathering up with the rage bait. Gets traffic from both the anti gambling and the pro gambling crowds and he’s milking the shit out of it.

Annoyed to still be on this, but: there's a fundamental, maybe unresolvable disagreement between people who think gambling can be rational entertainment––even if it means losing money––and those who see losers as necessarily suckers
McKay Coppins@mckaycoppins

This is, by a large margin, the most common response to my story from irate gamblers. What’s sad (and a little funny) is that, statistically speaking, almost everyone thumping their chest like this is probably a lifetime loser.

This guy accidentally nails the whole point of this. You'd have to be a complete idiot to free solo a mountain with no training or experience. Everyone knows this. If you're a sports fan who thinks they can win at betting because they know a lot about sports, guess what...
Matthew Coller@MatthewColler

I never climbed a mountain before and didn’t make any effort to learn how to do it but I decided to free solo and fell and died, my story:

So I just watched an obvious AP check a phoenix link. Obvious, because he had a stack of Checker tickets thick as his bankroll. He did it completely wrong, ignoring half of every denom. But they say everything is common knowledge and everyone knows everything and there's no reason to be secretive about anything.
