@DS950143957262 @mark24bennett @FCUnitedMcr You clearly didn't read the pragmatic proposal put forward by FCUM. They proposed to have Curzon's ground on standby and pay a retainer for the privilege. The club would agree with the NPL the day before if their ground is fit, if not play at Curzon, guaranteeing the game.

@mark24bennett @FCUnitedMcr The fixture has had to be scheduled for the final week of the season. Thats means it absolutely has to go ahead this time. Unless FCUM can 100% guarantee the game will go ahead (which previous postponements suggest they can't) then the league have no choice but to move it.

@simmo_on_sport Whilst I can sympathise with Stockton, their alternative options were just absurd. The NPL decision was also dubious at best, to allow the Easter Monday game and Hyde game (18th) to go ahead but determine 2 weeks in advance that the Stockton game can't is laughable

"We were informed by the League that it had received an application from Stockton Town that our home postponed fixture against them be moved to their ground." There's (much) more important context provided by FC's statement, but that's a genuinely eyebrow-raising nugget!

@RedTom64 @FCUnitedMcr Hi Tom, I can't agree that you are fully vindicated, the club and their groundsman have worked miracles in the last few weeks to get the pitch in a great condition for Monday's game. There are detailed plans on the members forum re post season work.

Re: FA Standardised Rule 8.7.2 I was asked, so done some background reporting. There isn't a threshold - i.e. game called of X number of times - for it to be applied. Instead, it's a case-by-case basis considering time of season, fixture backlog, severity of problem, etc

@TheNeesk @simmo_on_sport I think you will find that the club presented a proposal for all the clubs to debate. The majority agreed with the proposal, no forcing, just good governance and democracy in action.

@simmo_on_sport They did and at which point we offered to have a plan B which we were prepared to pay for regardless of whether we used it or not. If the FC pitch was in any doubt prior to the 21st the alternative would be involved. Sensible, pragmatic and effective for all concerned

@DWA2005 Assume conversations about provisions for the Stockton game started before Easter tho? The aggravating factor is multiple postponements of that particular fixture, right? (I’m not an NPL spokesperson in any way here, but rather trying to understand the machinations 👍🏻)

A decision made by a league committee that actually put rearranged games into the schedule in the wettest winter ever. Wouldn't mind if some common sense was applied here, why not allow the game to be played at Broadhurst park and should the weather look a bit risky let's say on the Friday before we switch the game to Curzon, nobody loses out and the integrity of the league is still in place. Remember this is also the league who have never made a comment about how the Gainsborough game absolutely ruined the pitch and endangered players wellbeing. By the way we fixed the pitch and got it back into unbelievable playing condition since that game. Up the Reds

@CommitteeFCUM I've never heard of anything like this ever, leagues are usually there to support clubs and the integrity of the league structure, this is clearly a deliberate attempt to try and derail the clubs title challenge.
