imo using ai tools like this is fine as long as it helps the devs (+ it's optional), and it'll get normalized over time anyway, same way AI coding tools went from "bad quality" to "cheating" to standard in just 3 years once people realized how much faster they get things done with it because unfortunately whether people wanna accept it or not, we (including game dev studios) either adapt to these tools or get left behind EVENTUALLY and there's a VERY high chance your favorite app, website or game was already assisted by AI, this isn't new.. studios across the industry (EA, Embark, NetEase, Ubisoft, Activision, etc..) already use AI tools, fortnite is just one of the first few being open about it & how exactly they use it

This is a company. They WILL prioritize effectiveness and speed over paying employees who can be replaced by AI. AI and other machines are and will continue replacing real people, and there's nothing you can do to stop this. No amount of "Fuck EpicGames" is going to stop it. And I'm not only talking about generative AI replacing humans. What about the people who had their jobs taken by machines and automation? Cashiers are getting replaced by self checkouts, factory workers by industrial robots. Are you gonna complain because these companies have less workers to pay off and are more effective when automated? Technology has always replaced jobs, AI is no different. Companies always adapted new tools that let them do the same work with fewer people, faster and cheaper, that's just the reality.

Well, now everyone will be like "UGH! AI SLOP!" The artists draw the main concept BY HAND (no one is replaced) then use an AI Filter to finalize it and then EVENTUALLY clean the final image manually and this is just CONCEPTING! There are countless of talented Epic Developers that will then, BY HAND, model these, as well as POI's, props and more Let's not take this clip demonstration to doom post or to justify the layoffs, since it benefits no one and is also frankly quite stupid
