1/ Bybit Security Breach: $1.4+ Billion in Crypto Stolen @Bybit_Official has detected unauthorized activity affecting its ETH cold wallet (0x1db92e2eebc8e0c075a02bea49a2935bcd2dfcf4), resulting in the theft of: 🔹 401,346.7688 ETH 🔹 8,000 mETH 🔹 90,375.5479 stETH 🔹 15,000 cms 💰 Estimated total loss: ~$1.4 Billion USD A highly sophisticated exploit manipulated Bybit’s multi-sig signing interface, deceiving signers by displaying the correct address while secretly altering the underlying smart contract logic—ultimately granting the attacker control over the wallet.
