@MikeOCull If you read interviews with the bands of your youth they will say that they were influenced by jazz artists (as well as folk, skiffle etc) -no young modern musicians ever listen to any Jazz.

The music of the 20th century will never happen again. No revival is gong to create the cultures that created all the songs and musicians we love. Rock often feels like genre music to me now. Newer bands make all the right moves but I’ve heard them all before. The best of them excel within the confines of their style but aren’t particularly original. The real kick of this, for all my talk about how music stopped progressing in the current era, is that I have a hard time wrapping my mind around a lot of modern bands. Much of it comes from cultural and personal spaces I don’t understand and I find myself unable to decode it. I don’t comprehend its influences or know what to make of the harmony. I get and respect the talent of bands like Animals As Leaders and Polyphia but can’t quite find an emotional handle on them. My own playing is 100% rooted in the 20th century and it kind of bugs me. I’m 59 years old so I guess that’s to be expected but I have a need to push past it.

1) the Falklands were originally illegally seized from Argentina in 1833. BUT they have been British ever since. 2) throughout the 1960s and 70s, Argentina negotiated in good faith to trade ownership. They offered concessions, such as “Falklanders won’t have to serve in rhe army.” The British teams all recommended the transfer. Each UK government punted it to the next. Was Argentina right to invade? Of course not. The Falklanders’ opinion should be taken into account! Plus the major reason for the attack was because the junta was looking for distractions. But I can’t help but think that it would be cheapest for Argentina to pay each Falklander a million dollars (costing about 3.5 billion) to move away.

While the actual party that will save Britain, that just beat Labour in Manchester, that won the local elections last year, and is number 1 in the national polls is standing … 5,000 people across the country. That’s the difference. Never forget that going viral online is not the same thing as building a serious political machine. Britain is in Last Chance Saloon. @ImBreckWorsham Trump is not the Trump we voted for. His rhetoric is something I don’t recognize. He is either compromised (he is) or mentally unstable. He literally has done a 180 from his all of his campaign “promises”. I would not have voted if he was this person on his campaign trail.

I will admit it. I LOVED Trump unhinged when he was on the campaign trail. He was outspoken, politically incorrect and fearless in his brutality. And I loved it. In the wake of so much political correctness, it was refreshing to see a man who didn't care what people thought. He was a breath of fresh air. He wasn't a politician and that's what I loved about him. The problem is, our chickens have come home to roots. We said, "let Trump be Trump." Now here we are. On the brink of nuclear war. Pray for America. We did this to ourselves. And to the world.
