@LaundryQueen__ @sheilagregoire This is a lie from the pit of hell.

@sheilagregoire Men need sex as much as women need attention & neither of these are superficial.
Men tend to not gain the same benefit from therapy as women do.

New: Republicans are hammering “Joe Biden’s America” as a land of rising violent crime, surging immigration and out-of-control inflation.
But homicides are down 9%.
Illegal border crossings are at the lowest level in 2+ years.
Inflation is now below 3%.

@KSPrior Oh that’s fantastic! Did you ask if she’d heard what they did to Karen Prior?
English

@DoloresGMorris @BethMooreLPM Yes!!! Mary was sitting at the feet of Jesus as a disciple, as one of the disciples. This story should end 99% of the stupid man discussion.
English

@BethMooreLPM Some of these guys would scold Jesus for not sending Mary back to help Martha with the dishes.

Women of the faith, you get to have your own relationship with Jesus and love him with your whole MIND as well as your heart and soul and you dang well can study theology without permission from a man. This has gotten so bizarre. Go ahead. Knock yourself out with insulting replies. You religious misogynists are so far gone from Christ’s example in regard to women that I’m entirely unbothered by your opinion.

@Greg1Garrett @nytimes Yes I agree with needing to be uncomfortable. This highlights a massive flaw in our system. Bills need to be streamlined and simplified so they can effectively get voted on not packed to the gills with every possible partisan issue.

You can try to ban the teaching of #racism. But you can’t ban reality. Our founders still allowed #slavery and decreed that enslaved people were 3/5 of a human being. That makes some people who look like me uncomfortable. We should be. @NYTimes #snowflakes nytimes.com/2023/07/14/us/…

@Andy35o @PastorBenMarsh He wrote the Constitution and the Bible. So ya he reads bro… wow some people out here diminishing the power of God.

@CCMTwitts That one they did with Jay-Z I think it was All Summer Long

@_megconley Wow that’s nonsense. It’s always easy ignore someone when they start with childish insults. On top of that he’s arguing against long established procedures for helping elevate people out of human trafficking. This dude doesn’t even understand…

@Indy_Is_Here @thedesertginger That might just lead to some of the southern stated succeeding again!

@MuiRebekah I think this happens if you make this a primary issue rather than a secondary or tertiary issue. Like I have comp friends that would never get close to this point because they take other beliefs much more seriously. But even then they shine in spite of comp. ideas not because of.

Unwanted Attention
Once, at a Christian conference, I got caught in an elevator with one of the speakers. He looked at me for a while. Awkward. Then he said to me, "God told me he doesn't want you to wear glasses. You don't need them. Let me pray for your healing right now!"
I said, "No, thank you!"
He looked wounded and baffled at once.
I was the host of the conference. Didn't look good on me.
But I have to be honest. I didn't believe him.
Wearing glasses is not a disability. But I sure can identify a bit with my disabled friends who are constantly harassed by well-intentioned people who want to heal them and fit them back into the community as "normal" people.
Imagine being constantly prayed upon in a way that disrupts your valid attempts to just be there as you are! Without having to be able-bodied and therefore "normal".
This applies to my friends with invisible disabilities as well.
I think this obsession to miraculously heal people is often motivated by an anxious need for God to prove themself and make everyone "normal".
Discrimination is often driven by this anxiety while cloaked in good intentions.
Alt text: cartoon of a woman in the aisle of a church with pews and no wheel chair space in the visible portion. A group of members lays hands on her and prays for a miracle out loud. One asks, "Do YOU believe in miracles?" The woman is thinking: "The real miracle would be if I could just go to church without all this unwanted attention." The pastor in the pulpit and additional members in the pews all look directly at the scene.

@strategywoman Hey Yaroslava! I’m at work right now cutting trees.

9:51 pm in #Kyiv
I have a question for you.
What are you doing now?
I realized that I began to forget what normal life is. Somehow war replaced the usual normality with a new one. Life under air raid alerts is my new normal.
I need a glimpse of something from outside.
So, what are you doing now?
