@EVR_Forge

Convert to the Catholic faith which is the Traditional Catholic faith. Bible = Roadmap to the Catholic Church. I love Protestants. Not their many errors.

🚨 WOW! SecWar Pete Hegseth just dropped TRUTH NUKES "We negotiate with BOMBS. You have a choice, as we loiter over the top of Tehran about your future." "This is NOT Iraq and Afghanistan." "The War Department agrees. Our job is to ensure that. And so we're keeping our hand on that throttle as long as as hard as is necessary to ensure the interest of the United States of America are achieved on that battlefield!" "This is not a President who's interested in vague end states. He's been very clear with us about what we need to accomplish, creating the conditions for them never to have a nuclear capability. And that's exactly what we're doing in historic fashion." 🇺🇸

Granted I'm here and not there but from the reports and verifiable voting and laws as reported, I see no way Britain can be saved for the Britons. UK is Spain circa 715 AD. I can only hearken back to travels there in the '80's for some sort of comparison and the change I see is so stark and disheartening.

No, it isn't. And the NOM isn't just an "amendment" by any reasonable definition of that word. It is a flatout novelty in history, an inorganic fabrication. Or as Benedict XVI called it, an "on the spot, banal fabrication". That is a fact. The NOM is radically different from the TLM.

@EVR_Forge @PaulinusOfTrier The TLM is just one edition of the liturgy which can be amended by the Pope as has happened many times. The Mass is God given, the version used is a creation of men. And the normal version is what you call NO. You might prefer the TLM but it's not "better".

Why are people so surprised that the young are flocking to Masses celebrated in Latin? The use of Latin has never been an obstacle to faith. Even at the Reformation, the argument against Latin was not that people were losing faith because of the language, but rather that the use of Latin concealed what they saw as the real meaning of the Mass, a different issue altogether.

"I've no problem with the TLM if there are priests and congregations willing and able." Which can't occur if it is suppressed. Again: One can't "favor" the NOM when the TLM is not even available. I'm stunned at how many Catholics don't even know just how dramatic and radical are the differences between the two. But when one realizes that the TLM has been effectively suppressed for so long, I guess it isn't really shouldn't be so surprising.

@EVR_Forge @PaulinusOfTrier "Everyone I disagree with is a modernist" response. I've no problem with the TLM if there are priests and congregations willing and able. I do have a problem with those who oppose V2, those who are misogynistic, those who are antisemitic, those who oppose religious freedom.

🚨 HOLY CRAP! Senator Cruz CONFIRMED that Biden’s FBI wiretapped Susie Wiles during a PRIVILEGED CALL with her lawyer without the consent of EITHER party. To make it HORRENDOUSLY worse, they then tried to HIDE evidence of their actions by marking the file “prohibited.” This makes Watergate look like CHILD’S PLAY. Accountability is not optional. These people MUST be held accountable.

"Also, regarding Africa, Mass attendance is higher than in most Western nations. This is true, however, Protestantism and Islam have also grown exponentially in those countries that were a Catholic majority before the Council." Cardinals Sarah and Arinze have both criticized liturgical abuses common in Africa. The issue is not just one of Western "clown masses" but of cultural excesses which the novus ordo together with Conciliar Church leadership have encouraged.

Posts like this miss the point entirely. Yes, Mass attendance was declining because of worldliness, world events, communist education, etc. This is undeniable. However, Mass attendance was still steady, and, despite all the obstacles, Catholic education was still orthodox, religious orders still had booming vocations, etc. The external pressures were a problem; however, removing the safeguards while at the same time being bombarded by those pressures was a disaster. Mass attendance before the Council was generally stable, and the decline was gradual and had hit a point of stasis; after the Council and with the New Mass, it became like a reverse hockey stick, with rapid decline. We cannot say that 25 years after the War, the New Mass was not the major cause of the decline, because the historical record rebukes misleading takes such as the one posted below. Also, regarding Africa, Mass attendance is higher than in most Western nations. This is true, however, Protestantism and Islam have also grown exponentially in those countries that were a Catholic majority before the Council. It is a highly religious continent, and very conservative; however, the effects of ecumenism, bad liturgy, and so on have demonstrated bad effects. They are a could decades behind us in many ways, but the decline in Catholic fervour is not foreign to Africa. Many African nations, formerly Catholic, will go the way of certain Latin American nations, which essentially swapped Catholicism for Pentecostalism -- this is already happening in parts of Africa. This argument about "things not being perfect before the Council, so it can't be the Council's fault" is specious and lacks substance. It would be like saying, "Well, my son was on a bad path before I stopped homeschooling him and sent him to public school, so you can't blame public school." No, you can certainly blame the actions of the father who failed his son when he was needed most; in the same way, the prelates who caused this disaster have an immense amount of spiritual blood on their hands, and defenders like this intellectually bereft person who posted are defending prelates who were derelict in duty and who have caused immeasurable harm to their spiritual children by their misplaces optimism and spiritual negligence.

Mass attendance & general public religiosity in most of Europe had been declining since the end of WWI It’s true prior to VII in AMERICA mass attendance was upwards of 90% but that’s because general American culture was fanatically conservative & religious at the time Protestants experienced similar inclines & declines at similar rates in similar places The problem of declining mass attendance is really the de-christianization of society Trying to project liturgy wars into it is a huge cope There are countries in Africa today where Catholics have over 90% Mass attendance rates

Pilot Mountain. A mountain on top of a mountain. I've been on this mountain and explored it. I have a theory that this was once a massive tree that might called & turned into a stump. The mountain has many similarities to a tree, even exposed roots or elongated rock formation.

I used to shoot at a little one-bench public rifle range outside Wilmore, KY. Back in the '80's. Cock fighting was technically illegal, but of course the raising of roosters was decidedly not.......... Well, right across the dirt road was an old shack the ground in front of which was covered with tiny little "single unit houses" with a cock tethered out in front of each. As soon as I saw your post and heard you singing I laughed out loud. That song carried me right back to that little "housing development" and its tiny little residences and its tiny little residents all just a crowin' like the ones on Sourwood Mountain! 🤣

@EVR_Forge 🤣 I never realized this song was about chicken fighting, but now I think you are almost certainly correct. Why else would there be that many "crowing" unless he was breeding them?! Old boy was up to no good...
