I was listening to the Dave Ramsey and this 23-year-old dude called in to talk about his student loans and investments. He has $25,000 in student loans, $25,000 in his brokerage account, and a $200 minimum monthly payment for his student loans. He was calling to ask if he should keep paying just the minimum payment and invest the rest of his free cash flow into the markets because the return he'd make would exceed the interest rate of the loans.
I swear these people are trying to bait them into going into rage fits. Fortunately Dave wasn't on the show because he would've had an aneurism. John Delony nicely said obviously he should just take his $25,000 in the brokerage account and pay off the loan in full. And to do it immediately.
