It does get pretty tiring how all the e-thomists like to harp on the idea that sex is a venial sin even when married if done for pleasure instead of purely trying to beget children. Under the same principle it is a venial sin to -Drink soda -Eat sweets -Chew gum but they only ever like to bring up the sex issue. Like we get it dude, you're super chaste and we're all lustful dogs. It's arguably worse to drink soda here, because even if you're having sex with your wife for pleasure, you're still avoiding a greater sin by it. What sin does drinking soda avoid? But I guess it's not as titillating to tell people it's a sin to drink Dr. Pepper as it is to tell them it's a sin to have sex with their wife.
