@Ottawa_Steve Your inexperience driving is showing. It was also freezing rain over the last 48 hrs. Cleaning up the roads lets our buses and cars proceed safely, which protects drivers, passengers and pedestrians. You’re a very privileged minority, my friend, as someone who can walk to work.

@FCDonaldson Nah, it's a fine take. If you're a danger to others in *a few cm* you're driving too fast, have no winter tires, or are just a bad driver. There's lots of ways to drive safe. Wheelchairs can't climb a snow bank. Prioritizing cars over the disabled. What kind of take is that?

One of the best things about having size 14 winter boots is after a snowfall, when roads are cleared (and sidewalks aren't) and snow banks are left at crosswalks is to be able to kick them over into the street to clear the way for people on foot.

Somehow we've decided that massive 2 ton cars can't handle a few cm of snow on the road (mostly because drivers can't keep to safe speed limits) but seniors, kids and ppl in wheelchairs should have to navigate 2 foot tall snow banks to cross the road.

@FCDonaldson The current culture can harm via pollution, unnecessary maintenance costs, road rage, underinvestment in alternate transit methods, low density planning among others. Can we address these currently? Sure. Are we? Maybe not to the extent we should.

@stphnmaher @robert_hiltz It’s been twenty years and the Party is still standing, now with more members than any other Party in Canadian history. Almost half that time in gov’t. So “unstable” that it’s coalition has represented the plurality of total voters two elections in a row.
