100%...I see this with immigration applications too. Someone used a method, 1,000 people copy it until USCIS starts to deny that same method.
Ugochukwu Madu@UgochukwuCFR

It’s not “influence,” it’s about how Nigerians approach every opportunity that comes their way — they don’t rest until they abuse it. This is the reason some Nigerians gatekeep some opportunities over fear of abuse when lots of Nigerians know about it. ✅“Banger boys.” ✅“Follow for Follow.” ✅“If you’re trying to earn Elon Musk money, comment under this tweet let’s follow each other (no plan to create value and attract followers - ‘let’s use the follow4follow shortcut’).” ✅Misinformation and Disinformation for engagement ✅“Defamation under the guise of cruise.” I said it a while ago that with the way some Nigerian creators are moving on X because of monetization, what happened to YouTube/blogging (AdSense monetization) will happen to X Payouts. It already happened on TikTok (Live) and Facebook (some types of monetization are now ‘invite only’). Now, X is considering addressing “Ivanka accounts based in Nigeria and distorting political views.” Soon, it will be extremely difficult for a Nigerian account to meet monetization requirements of any platform. A platform introduces monetization, some people will not rest until they abuse it. Then, the platform starts raising the bar and soon enough, it becomes extremely difficult for genuine Nigerian creators to meet the requirements. It’s a cycle of abusing platform policies and then blaming platforms for stifling the growth of Nigerian creators.

@FatherReturneth Electricity is expensive here also. In fact, my last electricity bill was over two hundred dollars. Guess what? I can afford to pay it because I have a decent job.

Truer words. The problem is people are cashing out and want to continue to cash out.
Wall Street Mav@WallStreetMav

I was posting here on X for years before monetization. I will still be posting here on X if they cancel the entire monetization program. If Elon and @nikitabier decide to make changes to how they incentivize content in different countries, that is fine. It should not change how you post. Everyone needs to stop worrying about X ad revenue and just focus on having a great account on X.

@Hauwa_L No they are not uniformed. People are advocating publicly about killing disabled kids. They know about disabilities, they just choose to be deliberately wicked

@misty_abisola This is very correct. They still look down on people with SCD calling them sicklers or "beating will correct that behavior" of a neurodivergent or callong people with down syndrome "imbecile". They choose stigma on purpose.

I disagree. A lot of us are not uninformed. We are just selfish and we do not see persons with disabilities as fellow human beings. Information is very very available, people are being corrected every day. Disabled people are speaking up, educating and sharing their realities. You correct language, people will argue back. You explain respectful alternatives, people will tell you “how can you tell me I can’t say ALBINO anymore when it’s in the dictionary?” You advocate for better treatment, people deflect to “everyone is suffering.” I run a disability advocacy and talent management agency, and I’ve seen this up close. We represent persons with disabilities and the pushback is constant. We see what skit makers do with disability on social media, turning their real experiences into harmful jokes and stereotypes for engagement. Thousands of people and even our favorite celebrities are always laughing at these useless skits. We corrected one skit maker in January, and till today, people are still in the comment section defending the harmful content and insulting us. We @mistyglamcorp organized an advocacy pageant last year for persons with albinism, and some brands asked us why we are wasting time on inclusive pageantry because “it doesn’t sell.” We are currently working on a runway show for models with disabilities, and the things brand managers say behind the scenes when we pitch to them to sponsor the event will shock you. That’s not lack of information. I’m working on a free dictionary of disability-inclusive words/ language and during the testing phase, someone was arguing about why they can never stop using the word, “RETARD.” My team and I also have a digital platform we are building for disability education called @IncluNorm and investors directly tell us “this is not necessary.” You cannot educate people who are just selfish and mean. This is where laws, policies and consequences have to come in. Private individuals can only do what we can. There has to be real consequences for exclusion, and poor treatment of persons with disabilities.

The gas price is affecting us in the US too. The price went up. But man… I have light! I don't have to run any gen. The only time I need fuel is when I start my car to go somewhere. Imagine having to struggle over basic things like electricity in 2026. God abeg.

I’m going to go further than @nikitabier and suggest that I don’t think people should be monetized to post about politics at all. Period. It only incentivizes the creation of divisive content because divisive content baits engagement harder than the truth. Limit the monetization to creative and educational content, like AI, design, photography, art, comedy, and writing. Maybe some business/fintech/crypto but they don’t even need or ask for it and not having their reach crippled is enough.

Growing up we all experienced some type of misandry in our homes. While the girls will be washing plates and spoons, the boys will be washing the car after popsy had driven it through all the bad roads in town. The rubbish you'd have to scrub off the tyres mehn. Misandry affects all of us

If you see someone wey resemble me for Yaba, it's not AI, na me. 😁😁 It happened that three of my wristwatches have stopped working because their batteries have gone bad. I went to a timson shop at the city centre to replace the battery and the man said it was £20 for each battery. That makes £60 for three batteries! I told him say I no dey do. How I go spend £60 to replace a button-sized watch battery! Na so I just vexed jump enter plane going to Lagos. I gave the watches to an aboki for Yaba market under bridge and ask him to change the batteries for me. Aboki finished work, I asked him say how much, he said "tiri taasand". I didn't even bargain the price with him, na so I count 5k give am instead of 3k. Aboki shined his teeth at me, I shined mine back to him. 😁😁 I still dey Yaba sha. Who dey Yaba?

Dear, @elonmusk Do you realize what you're doing? I don't have any followers from Türkiye. We were so happy when you bought Twitter. You don't realize what you're doing; it's like you made this decision while drunk. I love you so much. But this is not humanity! What you're doing is literally cruel!

Starting Thursday, we'll be updating our revenue sharing incentives to better reward the content we want on X: We will be giving more weight to impressions from your home region—to encourage content that resonates with people in your country, in neighboring countries and people who speak your language. While we appreciate everyone's opinion on American politics, we hope this will disincentivize gaming the attention of US or Japanese accounts and instead, drive diverse conversations on the platform. We invite creators to start building an audience locally. X will be a much richer community when there's relevant posts for people in all parts of the world.

It's like this, kiddo: Imagine a big playground (X) where everyone runs to the popular American slide for candy (money from views). Now, X says: "Get more candy if your friends from your own neighborhood like your games." This stops outsiders from only yelling about US politics to chase big crowds. Instead, it grows fun local chats everywhere—in your language, about your stuff. Good thing overall. Makes X richer and less one-country focused.
