Citizens I’ve got a question:
If you were to choose City legends midfield Trio which would it be, & why?
1. KDB, Yaya, David silva.
2. KDB, Yaya, Bernado Silva.
3. KDB, Fernandinho, David Silva.
4. KDB, Fernandinho, Bernado Silva.
5. KDB, David Silva, Rodri.
6. KDB, Yaya, Fernandinho.
7. KDB, David Silva, Gundogan.
8. KDB, Rodri, Bernardo Silva.
9. KDB, Yaya, Rodri.
10. KDB, Bernado silva, David silva.
11. KDB, Rodri, Gundogan.
English

@Xcellent70 That also tells you something about the two clubs. No doubt United have had legends in their ranks, but Barca can boast of such great names that players like Neymar have to be left out.
English

@nonewthing Barca has to first beat Atleti. I don't know if they will. That's the first hurdle.
English

Arsenal have a lot more attacking power than any team Barcelona have faced in the CL this season except for PSG.
It’s not Ultimate Attack vs Ultimate Defence, it’s Ultimate Attack vs Ultimate Team.
🧞♂️@aman99ii
Barcelona vs Arsenal will tell you a lot about where football is headed
English

@cricketwithsam @KP24 Because there wasn't one in the first place. It was Ronaldo phenomeno all along.
English

@KP24 You may find 100s of Messis but there can't be another Ronaldo 🐐
English

@PSGINT_ This is also very similar to the Messi v Ronaldo debate. One gives you joy and magic as well as output, the other gives you mere output.
English

I think i agree with this
Busquets has become very overrated
Nel•@5peatNel
Kroos is by far a better midfielder than Sergio Busquets
English

@PSGINT_ I love Kroos. Always wanted him at Barca over Rakitic.
But, as a football fan, if you want to experience happiness, magic, and emotional cleansing through watching a football game, I don't think you want to watch Kroos over Busquets.
English

@Rup4kC Neuer will always be the best. Buffon too. Courtois is very very close in terms of shot-stopping, but he's not in the league of those two.
English

You got Barca fans saying this about a Real Madrid player, and some guys want you to believe another guy is better lmfao
Jimmy@FCBJimmy_
Both Neuer and Buffon are several levels below Courtois btw. Unfortunately he’s the greatest of all time by a long distance.
English

@Furymaker_ To be honest, I would be over the moon to see someone come even 50% close to Messi because that'd mean I'd get to enjoy the inimitable magic again, for years. But, it's an immeasurably high expectation, and I don't see anyone fulfilling it.
English

Imaging comparing Dowman to this.
There is a reason why I stay away from comparing anyone to Messi.
Let's ignore what he became with all the goals and assists, let's focus just on his profile, physical, techncial profile, the mentality.
Dowman is a strong kid, but he's not in the same galaxy when it comes to Messi in terms of explosiveness, ability to switch from stand-still position to full speed within first 2-3 steps.
He doesn't come close to this level of agility, body manipulation, feints, the tiniest multiple touches while running at you with full speed. Also the ability to take challenges, to fix his balance and readjust his body instantly, to split defenders and go between them, come on.
Just sheer difference in their athleticism make this comparison hilarious to read as it brings unnecessary hate to the kid.
Technically, Dowman is elite, it's obvious from his first touch he's elite, but will this talent translate to executing every single technical aspect of football efficiently and as consistently? Doubt it
His passing and shooting definitely look good enough, but it hasn't been tested yet, he didn't have to face the triple teams, the intensity, the hard fouls and defensive focus on himself like he will once he establishes himself, so far he's playing as a nobody and opponents see him as such.
Mentality part, he does look like he's ready, but how will he react once things aren't going his way on the pitch, when opponents are kicking him every other touch, will he still go up and keep that same tenacity and keep on going?
I understand the hype and excitement for your own academy player and a new kid on the block, but comparing him to Messi, really?

@RobyPoto Give us an example of the striker you described that played for Barca in the past
English

If Flick stays next season the next CF [if we sign one] should be a better player than Ferran outside the box which is very hard to find, Osimhen is not that.
Barca will never need a box predator that offers nothing else outside that.
A Barca center-forward is different from center-forwards of other teams and as much as I hate Ferran, his outside the box space interpretation and associative play has been immaculate.
With all that said, Asllani is the center-forward that offers you that outside the box play and hold-up stability with box-presence.
English

@cityzenken_ Honestly, I'd never want Real Madrid to win, even if they are playing against Satan. That whole institution is Franco through and through. Abominable club!
English

All these Barcelona fans forming alliances with Real Madrid, talking about how “La Liga is the best league in the world” or “Premier League is trash.”
Omo we are not friends oh. In fact, I’d rather agree that La Liga is rubbish than support you lot against any team in the Champions League!
I’d rather watch Premier League clubs win the UCL 12 times in a row than see Barcelona lift it!🫱🏾🫲🏿
English

@Xcellent70 Including the recent mauling of Madrid at the hands of Barcelona with scorelines of 4-0, 5-2, 3-2.
English

Man City beat that Newcastle team mid week.
🕊️@MagicalXavi
Getafe beat this Real Madrid team last week surely they finish top 3 in the PL?
English

@GeronimoMorgans Honestly, Dias is no longer a City-level player. Khusa should play alongside Guehi as CB. Haaland, my goodness, I have yet to see him play half-decently in UCL knock-outs! Haaland, Semenyo, & Dias were the three best players of Madrid. These three have to atone big in 2nd leg.
English

Pep had a very good plan, theoretically.
The highline punished us once for the first goal. The rest? On Ruben Dias. A poor clearance set up Valverde for the second. Can't deal with aerials gifted Valverde the ball in behind for the third.
And what about the balls in the first ten minutes that just needed a tap-in? Where was Haaland?
Two gifts from Dias shitting on Pep's plan. Chances not taken shitting on Pep's plan.
You can't blame the manager for the bozo genes of the players on the pitch.
English

City really played into Madrid's hands: I mean how can you not press this Madrid team upfront? You're afraid of counters? I don't think you'd have conceded more than 3 on counters. So, why not do your best thing & force their players into mistakes? Pathetic gameplan!

English

@muddassirjourno How would Luka Modric fare against Newcastle with an 18 year old Pitarch beside him? That's exactly the situation Pedri found himself in yesterday, & he still came out on top. Tonali and Joelinton had to foul him out of frustration to get the ball off him and they still couldn't.
English

They generally did really well against both Lamine and Pedri. Both didn’t have a sniff. Barca are really lucky to come away with a goal. Had Newcastle been less passive, a 2/3-0 win was on the cards.
َ@Asensii20
Pedri vs Newcastle Emasculated by Joelinton
English

@DougieCritchley Barca had De Jong, Balde, Kounde, and Eric Garcia missing as well. If they were available, you bet they'd be much more in control of things.
English

Credit where it’s due…
Newcastle were close to perfect tonight.
Without Bruno, Schar, Botman, Gordon from the start…
Yes they caused Barcelona multiple issues but they impressed me even more without the ball. Hall did an excellent job on Yamal.
Foolish penalty to give away in the final moments, Barcelona now strong favourites but with Gordon surely fit from the start in the Camp Nou…
You never know!
English

Just found another beautiful Negreira refereeing stat:
📈 Lamine Yamal has as many yellow cards (6) in the UCL as he has in La Liga, despite playing only 29 UCL matches and 95 La Liga matches.
And yes, the details shows he makes more fouls in UCL. This season, he actually commits more fouls in the UCL, averaging 2.5 fouls per 90, compared to 2.1 per game in La Liga.
Still, he has already received 4 yellow cards in the UCL and even missed a match through suspension, while in La Liga he somehow has ZERO yellow cards.
The same thing used to happen with Messi in La Liga. Negreira protection back then, and now with Lamine.
