West Coast Eagles co-captain Oscar Allen has issued an emotional apology following a meeting with Hawthorn coach Sam Mitchell, to discuss the possibility of Allen crossing to the Hawks at season's end. 10 News First revealed on Monday that the meeting took place, opening a deluge of commentary on the issue, with some calling for Allen to hand in his captaincy role at West Coast. "I just want to address my sincere apology, and serious embarrassment of what's happened over the last few days and weeks," Allen said today, flanked by Eagles Head of Football John Worsfold. "I'm going to continue my role as co-captain alongside Liam Duggan this season ... I just want to play some good footy for this great footy club." Allen has had a poor start to the season for the Eagles, only registering a total of 20 disposals and three goals across his first three games for 2025.

@MickRandallHS Stadium is in the middle of nowhere, no public transport, parking not great & Tues night. I think membership base more than doubled the first year the Cats moved from there to RAC. Tells you a lot about the importance of the venue. Still a big drop off tho given 13k at last 3.

Illawarra finish the season as the best offensive team and 3rd ranked defence. Been one of the more dominant seasons by a team with their overall rating. Only one loss by more than 8pts all season. Stay healthy and its hard to see them not winning it all.

Also, whilst its commendable to try and fix problems when they come up, its fair to expect regular business processes like booking your home venue and selling tickets are planned and thought out.

Unique codes vs shared codes for member ticketing was a tough one. We’ve had issues previously using unique codes and the short time these tickets would be available meant we wouldn’t be able to sort out issues our members have with their codes before everything was sold out.
