I generated 50M€ with ecommerce by joining the hype. I am joining the hype with mobile apps. I will be posting daily about it. Currently as of today: 1 app live, 1 in review. My plan: - ASO 1st - 3 TikToks for each app - ads from day one (google + meta)

@bcherny from plan mode. Is it possible to do, yes, clear context and spawn a team of subagents to work on the plan.

We want to encourage local development and experimentation with the Agent SDK and claude -p. If you’re building a business on top of the Agent SDK, you should use an API key instead. We’ll make sure that’s clearer in our docs.

@tomgant 872M tokens in a month is wild. my Claude Code bills keep climbing too but honestly every dollar back in time saved building apps. the ROI is insane when you actually ship

Huh, that was a month... 😅 872 million tokens $533 in AI costs Building ReadyPost and Portiny with Cursor Vibe coding hits different when you see the bill. Worth every token though. #buildinpublic #cursor

This is so real. AI writes the code in minutes. Then you spend 3 days figuring out why Apple rejected your build. The new bottleneck isn't coding. It's App Store review guidelines.
Pietro Soli@TheLifeofPiet

What surprised me most about vibe-coding my first app: The AI never got stuck on logic. It got stuck on Apple's rules. Makes me wonder — in a world where AI handles the thinking, does the competitive edge shift entirely to knowing the systems and platforms?

Everyone's worried AI makes developers dumber. I've learned more about marketing and design in the last 2 months than the 2 years before. Because I stopped wasting days on CSS bugs. AI didn't make me dumber. It freed up time for the stuff that actually matters.

@starter_story How did he pick the niche? And what does his retention look like after years of no marketing. Thats the real flex - building something sticky enough that it grows on its own.

just talked to a guy doing over $500K/year with a mobile app > runs it solo > hasn't touched marketing in YEARS > same niche as apps doing $50-$100M+ thinking about bringing him on the channel. what would you wanna know?

@StevenCravotta This is exactly how I work. Google Doc with everything before writing a single line of code. Competitors, pricing, screenshots. The doc becomes your north star when you're deep in the weeds at 2am.

My process for every app I build starts the same way: I open a Google Doc and brain dump everything. Competitors I found on Sensor Tower. Features I want to build. Sketches of the UI. Marketing angles. Pricing ideas. Pain points I'm solving. Everything goes in the doc. I've gone back to my PuffCount doc over 1,000 times. I always check the doc when I: Was stuck on pricing Needed marketing inspo Need to clarify for team members This single document became the blueprint for a $44k MRR app. Start every project with a brain dump. You'll thank yourself later.

@david_attisaas Hard disagree. ASO got me my first paying customers. Not keyword stuffing - actual screenshot optimization and testing what converts. 80% of my time goes into screenshots, 20% into the app itself. Most people just do it wrong.

stop pretending ASO is a real strategy. you can't optimize your way to relevance when the app store is flooded with 50 million apps and apple's own ads dominate every search. the algorithm is rigged to monetize, not to surface the best product. your keyword stuffed description isn't fooling anyone - especially not the 3 users who actually read it.

"Apps are dead" has been trending every year since 2015. Meanwhile app builders keep quietly making money. The loudest opinions come from people who never shipped one.
Ernesto Lopez@ErnestoSOFTWARE

He is so right, apps are dead. I afford to live here only because I went to college and majored in gender studies and got into $30k in debt. Not at all because I figured out how to be profitable with apps. Please move on to something else Apps are dead

@MF_Camillus Disagree. I ship production apps with Claude Code daily. The trick isn't checking every line - its knowing what to check. Vibe coding + experience = dangerous combo.

Everyone arguing if vibe coding is 'real coding' while the vibe coders are shipping apps and collecting MRR. Your users don't check your git commits. They check if the app works.

@nuhgid breaking things into small focused tasks is the move. been doing the same - one clear problem per session and claude code just flies through it

I use Claude Code the same way Anthropic's marketing team: • Find APIs to connect to external platforms for better automation • Break down skills into orchestrators (workflow) and atomic (specialised tasks) It all starts with finding one problem to solve and going from there.

"Taste is the new skill" is trending and everyone's nodding along. Cool. But what does taste actually look like? For me it's spending 80% of my time on screenshots and 20% on the app itself. Users don't care about your code. They care about your App Store page.
