Do the US and Iran both want a ceasefire in Lebanon? Yes, I think so.
Did the US push Israel toward a ceasefire in Lebanon because Iran made it a condition for talks? Unclear but I don't think so.
Iran said repeatedly and loudly last week that a CF in Lebanon was a precondition--and then they met the US without one anyway.
