@ruths_gallery @theroyalparks Very much underrated and overshadowed by Bushy Park.

So enjoyed my first visit to Home Park this afternoon.
What a beautiful place it is.

The Pope is right, of course, being infallible. You don’t see him tweeting about The Hundred or the IPL. He’s a Test cricket purist, which is why he wears white. But his comments about the Ashes making us humble and smoothing narcissism didn’t apply to Kevin Pietersen
Pope Francis – ARCHIVE@Pontifex266Arch
The #Ashes remind us of who we are, which does us good. It puts us in our place, smooths out the rough edges of our narcissism, brings us back to reality, and makes us more humble and open to one another. None of us is God; we are all on a journey. #Lent vatican.va/content/france…

Read this and the world will seem a better place. theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2…

@TomTugendhat I actually find his comments quite insulting. Yet again we’re expecting the armed forces to do more, and operate in an incredibly difficult and volatile environment, whilst also continuing to hollow out their capability to perform.

@PhilRaynolds Britain is successful inspite of itself. If they actually empowered business then we’d be a leader.

So myopic. People bred by the system can’t see beyond the hall of mirrors they have built. Plenty of opportunity!

🚨 NEW: Chancellor Rachel Reeves is said to be feeling 'very depressed' as it's claimed that she 'can't see a way out' of the bleak economic outlook One source close to the Treasury: "She’s got choices to make and she knows they’re all shit." [@thetimes]

@London_W4 Alistair, may I ask where you are moored? I’m just curious.

@PolemicTMM @PhilRaynolds I’d personally much prefer to see a wider expansion of “white collar” apprenticeships. We need to move people from low & semi-skilled work into skilled work. On the job training will be a better route to achieve that.
English

@PolemicTMM @PhilRaynolds Not sure that is true. Wage inflation, due to a skills shortage, is rife in some sectors. However, companies are universally rubbish at investing in training and growing their own talent. Due to this, our pool of talent in this country is diminishing, not meeting growing demand.
English

@PhilRaynolds Or 'we don't want to pay enough to get the people we want to work for us'

@jimhamilton4 I hate, loathe, smoking, but in Paris it is different. It has a sweet smell, and is glorious.

@AlexGregoryGB I downloaded “Mind, Body, Row” today and did my first row along this evening. I really really enjoyed it. Looking forward to my next row.

@chefcascottccc @RAF_Luton More’s the pity. A Volvo jet would be more reliable.
English

@RAF_Luton Utter BS, all of it. Wrong plane, wrong manufactorer and wrong fuel.
Seriosly, RAF

@pinstripedline Given current circumstances, I can’t help but think that we should abandon our aspirations to be a blue water navy and instead invest in our ground forces.

If you liked Tenko...my play, Thrown By Giants, is about a women's internment camp on the Isle Of Man. Tenko without sweat... Manxo.

Classic drama Tenko begins on this day in 1981. Boasting a top-flight cast that includes @Lou_Jameson as Blanche Simmons.
