Read this new book by @DrAlwynTurner and absolutely loved it; a survey of the interwar years in Britain from every possible angle. Enormously fun and insightful, breezy but substantial. I’m a bit of a buff about these times and I found out so much stuff I didn’t know - the 30s music hall nostalgia boom, the shift in sexual dynamics with the imbalance of the sexes after WWI, all news to me. Strong recommend.
