Nobody is buying anything apart from foreign investors, who are stripping the UK of housing stock, increasing homelessness.

Can people just stop making assumptions that pensioners are wealthy! A great many pensioners live on their state pension. That's all they have to live on. They live in rented accommodation... council, not private, haven't had a holiday in many many years and have pretty shitty lives. This, my friends, is the reality. Not just in this country, but in many others. Stop imagining everyone lives in an Instagram world of roses and rainbows. They don't! Oh and by the way.... we 'Boomers' were raised in times where no one got into debt. If we couldn't afford something, we didn't have it. Simple! Our expectations were realistic. And... if people who worked hard all their lives, choose to put some of that hard earned money into private pensions so they can have a more comfortable retirement then.... good for them.

I've always liked a Rook, but even if I didn't, surely this behaviour is out of order. Shot just to be ploughed back into the land. We can send people to the moon, but have to resort to this to protect a crop. Lazy. Plus they eat pests to crops like leather jackets.

Not everybody is in a position to rescue animals. But everybody is in a position not to harm them.

This is the worst example of shrinkflation I have ever seen- Butter has been sold as 250g/half a pound since the dawn of time. Cooks learn to judge its weight by sight because of that Now it’s quietly reduced to 200g a packet. That’s like siphoning 20% out of a pint of beer!

Heads up, UK residents — especially in Sheffield, Brighton, Bristol, Hackney & similar areas:Pro-Palestine "Apartheid Free Zone" activists are doing coordinated door-to-door canvassing in residential streets. They turn up in hi-vis jackets (often pink or yellow) with clipboards, leaflets pushing Israel boycotts, and they log addresses/responses: "supportive / not interested / no answer. "The hi-vis is deliberate — it gives a false air of officialdom or professionalism so householders are less likely to slam the door. Critics call it mapping "lack of support" (i.e. targeting Jewish or pro-Israel homes), especially when timed for Passover. Seen in Meersbrook/Woodseats recently with groups of ~25. Similar ops reported elsewhere. This isn't neutral canvassing. Know the tactic, film if they knock on yours, and push back if it feels like intimidation. Stay alert. Working or not, doesn’t mean in today’s climate it is not harder. I managed 20 years ago when rents were £575, and not like now over £1000 plus! Simple overheads £1500!
