@CP24 How about this deal? -- Canada commits to 100B of military spending with the US over 10 years -- Canada commits to buying 200 Boeing passenger jets over 10 years -- No tarrifs either way on anything -- Freedom of movement and work between countries, focus on securing NA entry

Thousands have already died in this summer's European heatwaves, and around 161.2 million people across the United States are now under heat alerts. Extreme heat is one of the deadliest impacts of climate change. We need both rapid emissions cuts and practical cooling solutions.

@volcaholic1 100m years ago, the ocean was 600 feet higher. The average temperature was 10c higher. The Earth today is still in an ice age. Climate change hysteria is good for clicks and engagement I guess.

Heat index (what it feels like) up to 46.1°C (115°F) in New York, NY today. Looking forward to watching the power grid survive on thoughts, prayers, and millions of AC units running at once. But I'm sure it's fine. The solution to extreme climate collapse is just "buying AC." Right?

🚨 Trump just put Canada on notice over the Gordie Howe Bridge. 🇺🇸🇨🇦 His message to Carney is simple: America First means no more deals where Canada controls the asset, the land, the crossing, and the economic upside — while the U.S. is expected to just accept it. If a bridge connects two countries, both countries should share authority, benefits, and accountability. This is what leverage looks like. Canada spent years assuming America would tolerate lopsided arrangements forever. That era may be over. 👀 #cdnpoli #Trade

Announcement: The July 2 FIFA World Cup broadcast at Nathan Phillips Square has been cancelled. We understand that this is disappointing for many, but the decision was made due to the extreme heat forecast & the demand on resources to ensure the safety of all. Means a yearly review of CUSMA for the next 10 years. No companies are going to make any long term investments in Canada with this hanging over their heads. US and Mexico are now on their third round of formal negotiations. Canada hasn't started. Carney is a failure.

Mark Carney getting sprayed by unknown fluids at the Toronto Pride Parade is one of the most serious security failures in Canadian history. Any world leader being approached by randoms like that and sprayed with fluid is incredibly dangerous. The RCMP failed. You can guarantee that every personal protection detail in the world is studying that video to see exactly what NOT to do. You can see in the video that Carney was in shock. He stumbled and flailed his arms in a panic, not realizing what was happening or if he was in danger. I think going forward there will be changes to RCMP posture around him and event attendance rules. This isn't the kind of thing you can keep getting wrong.

July 1st is this week. Three possible outcomes for the #CUSMA review: 1️⃣ 16-year extension (best-case): Canada, the U.S., and Mexico unanimously agree to renew the agreement through 2042. 2️⃣ Annual review process (most likely): The agreement stays in force, but instead of a long-term extension, the U.S. pushes for yearly reviews, keeping pressure on Canada and Mexico and preserving leverage for future negotiations. 3️⃣ Withdrawal (least likely): Any country can leave CUSMA with six months' notice. This would create major uncertainty for North American trade and investment. The most probable outcome? More negotiations, more uncertainty, but no collapse of CUSMA. Washington benefits from keeping its trading partners guessing.
