On Spence Checketts show today Sarah Todd mentioned that she expects Walker's team and the Jazz to have some back and forth and settle on a number soon. Not sure if it's just her opinion or what she's hearing.

@jazzbeargryllz @Dunzod I don’t know how accurate this is, but I heard or read once that they wanted to try to promote trades and things, so the extra time was to give front offices the chance to regroup and look at options.
Like I said, not sure how accurate that is, but it makes sense

I mentioned this to @BeanOnTheScene1 on last night’s pod. I think teams are VERY wary to trade any 1st right now. With the way the rules are set up. Too many picks will be “eligible” to move up so we won’t see those moves like they have in previous years. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/hit…

Obvious answer is money.... it's June. Day 2 draft probably makes more money than a random baseball game they have on. I will say... I think the NBA GMs like it a lot more. They can finish day 1, do the interviews, all that stuff. SLEEP, and then make day 2 transactions

I swear Silver is messing with me. We did the schedule math and looked at historical precedent to determine the Jazz would play Friday and Sunday like always when there is Utah SL. Booked the travel and now gotta reconfigure.

@JeffBiesinger @CHoltSports I don't think KJZZ will broadcast the Vegas summer league because I think they would need to send a crew down there (cameras, cables etc) I think KJZZ is only broadcasting Salt Lake Summer League. Sources: Me

Yeah. That’s been my fear. It’s “fine” for a year…. But I personally would like to see the “Ace/DP” Jazz team take fruition more quickly. It might cost the Jazz a few playoff wins in the immediate future but I think it’ll make the 28-35 Jazz a more fun watch

This isn't something they have to solve NOW, but the Jazz have six starters for five slots and that's not gonna fly forever. Like, coming off the bench affects Ace's long-term earning power. Very few guys that talented are cool with that.

It takes luck to win in this league to go with skill…. Did the Jazz luck out that Ace had awful representation last year so he slid to them at 5? Did possibly the best player in this draft class slip because he went to play for Kansas and wasn’t utilized correctly?
