Those ads are funny (and the former meta ads executive who made them is good at his job. he had a lot of practice) Here’s what’s not funny: Calling “ads” a betrayal when your business model is selling paid subscriptions to companies. ChatGPT has more free users in Texas than Claude (trademark) has globally. Real betrayal isn’t ads. It’s control. Anthropic thinks powerful AI should be tightly controlled in small rooms in San Francisco and Davos. That its too DANGEROUS for you. That the future should be built somewhere else, by someone who is smarter We don’t believe that. Every week, 300M+ people use ChatGPT to learn how to do something. More than half of U.S. users say it helped them do something they once thought was impossible. Free access creates agency. When people have the tools, THEY decide what to build. You can just build things.

I have just been informed that one of the teams competing in the AI Grand Prix is using a biological computer built with cultured mouse brain cells to control their drone. At first look, this seems against the spirit of the software-only rules. On second thought, hell yeah.

"All the drones have to be the same. The only differentiator is the software, the code - the ability to build autonomy."
"The way we're doing this is, we're working with the Drone Champions League - the foremost operator of AI drone racing in the world. We've got them as our official race operator, and we're working off of the model that they've built, tested, and forged a really viable path."
"It starts with virtual qualifiers. Anyone can compete in these virtual qualifiers... That will lead to a physical qualifier where you're going to have gates that you have to go through. The top teams that qualify, both from the university level and across the globe, because it's going to be an open competition, those will qualify for the first official AIGP in Columbus, Ohio."
"There, you're going to have time to prep and refine your code leading up to the actual race day. And that's where - all systems go."
