The stakes for the Gulf nations are huge. Aside from the unreliable American military, their only guarantee of stability is their capacity to bribe their populations into passivity. If they are unable to do that anymore due to catastrophic economic losses because of war, then they better watch their backs because their own populations will turn against them. It will not surrender, it will not open the Strait of Hormuz, and it will fight to the death no matter how much destruction Israel and America inflict.
