Most of the rest of the Karakung will become a new 9-holer, parts of which can be incorporated into a future championship 18-hole composite with the restored Olde Course.

@tomandmartys That’s fair. But at the same time someone has done the work to get the thing off the ground. You can rehabilitate or start over on the brand itself. And PIF is likely to get what they wanted all along - some piece of PGAT or DPWT action. So from that lens it’s a success

@JonCheddar Problem is, if I’m looking to do some sportswashing, LIV has been an utter disaster in that regard. The brand is nothing short of toxic. Buy a soccer team.

The problem with Scott O’Neil finding outside investors is that LIV could easily be purchased in its entirety for $1. No real TV deal, very little sponsorship not PIF affiliated. Very expensive to operate, massive player payroll, likely impossible to keep Bryson. Anyone buying it would have to strip it down to the studs and basically start over, losing hundreds of millions in the process. Which begs the question, if you have a few billion lying around and want to own a golf league, why not start your own without the toxic brand, without the adversarial relationship with the entire golf world instead?
