This rational makes no sense. When Israel had no Iron Dome, terrorist rockets just crashed into Israeli towns. Israel had to respond. From the advent of Iron Dome in 2011 until October 7, Israel absorbed many rocket attacks and responded more moderately - because of Iron Dome.

The rationale, explained to me by a Dem who wants to stop funding Iron Dome: The defense system makes Israel more aggressive, confident that it can launch operations without much damage to its own cities. (Most Dems are still at "no offensive weapons, missile shield okay.")

I think that a ceasefire is a positive development but several quick thoughts: 1. Insane that Israelis hear on a ceasefire from Trump and not Bibi. 2. This is not the end of the war as Trump put it. The underlying reasons for escalation are still here. 3. It appears that Trump might be giving Iran a small win here by announcing a ceasefire as they wanted. 4. Anyone still thinks that Trump does what Bibi wishes? Bibi really didn’t want this ceasefire and still Trump decided to do it. 5. Bibi has several problems politically now - he promised to defeat Hezbollah (he did not). He promised to remove the Iranian threat (he did not, yet). Elections are soon and Bibi is in a bind

This is interesting: When New York State randomly forced some outpatient providers to make their prices transparent, the result was... Prices increased! Prices went up by about 1%, seemingly because low-priced providers realized they could charge people more!

Over the last few weeks, content creator Penofein has traveled to London to repeatedly harass the city's Jewish community for viral content. The response so far is deeply inadequate. @YouTube and @Instagram should not reward content that exploits Jews for engagement. Hosting this content normalizes it, which can quickly lead to escalation and harm offline. It is appalling to see these platforms continuously allow antisemitic abuse.

When given the opportunity to walk back his remarks saying Hamas is better than Israel, Hasan Piker doubled down. There are lots of acceptable viewpoints on Israel. Endorsing the perpetrators who killed the most Jews in a single day since the Holocaust isn't one of them.
