Folks I’m a bit of a tough old soldier; I don’t do tears often; I’ve never taken fools easily & no one scares me no matter what position they hold; I say what I truly believe often knowing I’ll get flack but if I believe it I’ll say it; You already know I don’t do cuddles that’s what teddy bears are for; BUT? I feel so bloody lost at what this once great country has become that I could Truly Truly CRY - Seriously I so often now just hold my head in my hands in abject despair; Look I’m old now & sadly I’ll be honest so very bloody miserable; Never in my early years when I was in policing (31yrs) did I believe my country would be so divided & lost in my latter years; Despite having been a police officer & knowing the law inside out & protecting the public & having a passion of helping & reassuring victims of crime; now in retirement I know that I can’t turn to the police like people once turned to me & I can’t tell you how terrible that is for me; it’s difficult for me to fathom; Many of YOU? Are young you have children & long careers ahead of you; it’s for your children you must fight for; our next generation will rely on you & you must give them the best possible start; I Truly hope you never feel as lost & lonely as I do about this once great country; as stated I’m old I haven’t got the time left to stand up & start all over again to try & make a difference in todays World! But I was once young & at least I did stand up & speak out when I saw how wrong things were in policing & law & order; You? Never be frightened to stand up & speak out for what you believe in & what’s in your heart; one day I pray that this country will wake up & realise that we’re lost & floundering on just about every level; we are all hurting like never before in many decades; There’s a saying ‘Be a lion for a day or a sheep for a lifetime’ I’ve always tried to be that lion not just for me but for you & policing; victims of crime & the publics reassurance & protection Something I now state so often & probably is the main cause of how low I truly feel is that I so love my country BUT? I don’t like what’s it’s become & I certainly don’t like the direction in which it’s going; but Over many years I’ve warned Britain about the perfect storm on Knife Crime & many other law & order issues that hurts & frightens so many; I’ve suggested so solutions so many times but no GOVT has truly got a grip listened & more importantly acted & that too has deeply hurt me as it has hurt so many others I meet in particular Homicide families - boy their hurt loss & bereftness has been a big driving force on me; So the Perfect Storm came & NOW? It’s the TSUNAMI it will hit us day in day out for years to come & it will be relentless & it causes so much more hurt & damage as the perfect storm knocks our Infrastructure over & the TSUNAMI then hits us with it wave after wave - the waves are & will be relentless; Don’t ignore how bad things are burying your/our heads is not an option; Britain needs a Spartacus don’t be frightened to stand up & be one; This post may or may not resonate with everyone but it’s how I feel how I see things & how dreadfully sad I feel about my country! Stay Strong & I know that at this time that’s so bloody hard to do & Stay Safe; God Bless & Nite Nite👋
