My God in heaven, this is a real tweet. I’m not so sure they understand what this graph is showing.

@alexmoore Never did. I think I had two of them at one point. Might have sold one of them I think. I'm a ThinkPad fan now I have a T43p with the UXGA IPS screen which I'm eventually to replace the lid on and max it out too.

@KylesDigitalLab I saw a few years ago on LTT forums you were trying to max out a Compaq Presario M2000. Did you ever get that project off the ground?

@FountainCartoon John, did you ever get a jacket like this when you worked on Fairly OddParents? I got this jacket from eBay back in December and it's a crew-only jacket that I guess someone didn't want anymore.

Suffice it to say, I’ll be milking this all weekend, but I’m genuinely grateful to “OH YEAH! CARTOONS!” for giving me my big break so many years ago. I’ll be posting anecdotes and memorabilia in the replies below if you’re interested! HBOYC!!!

27 years ago today, ‘Oh Yeah! Cartoons’ premiered on Nickelodeon. The anthology series featured shorts such as 'My Life as a Teenage Robot', 'The Fairly OddParents', and 'ChalkZone', which were later developed into popular Nickelodeon shows.

@notjustcart00ns It looks like they're using a 35mm MOS Arri camera in these photos which is extremely loud and can't record dialogue. While Arri had blimped cameras around this time like the Arricam, a lot of American filmmakers usually went with 35mm sync sound Panavision cameras.

@notjustcart00ns Interesting. So they used Arri cameras for the trailer but Panavision cameras for the actual movie according to IMDb. Depends on the type of shot I guess.

@Worksh_Op I can't see why anybody would release a system that used a stylus when optical disc systems like LaserDisc was already on the market. I mean if it was like 1970 or even 1975 I could see a needle based video record system, but with LDs already out in 78 it seems like a waste

But what let's me sleep well at night is this video, featuring a VHD capture by JVC Victor themselves. Even they can't tame the wobble and defects of their own VHD format! youtube.com/watch?v=llqxd1…

One of my least favorite formats to capture is the JVC Victor VHD. Unlike LaserDiscs, it uses a physical needle to read discs like a record. It took JVC well over 10 years to perfect the system before they released it...
