Yesterday, HACLA’s Strategic Initiatives Unit hosted the 2025 Strategic Partner Roundtable, where service provider execs joined CEO @LCastroRamirez, CDO Jenny Scanlin & Senior Staff to strategize on improving services for public housing residents.

Through struggle and discipline, persistence and faith, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. helped move this country forward. As we honor his legacy today, let’s remember the lesson he taught us: that even in the face of impossible odds, people who love this country can help change it. In honor of #MLKDay, I hope you’ll do what you can in your community to create a better future for us all.

25 years ago, I was hired by the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (@HACLA1938) to serve as a resident program coordinator for the Imperial Courts Public Housing community. Today, I return to this community as newly appointed President & CEO of HACLA.
